| This is a great high quality watch. It is heavy and well-built and looks great. Nothing cheap at all about the look and feel of this watch. Mine has the white background with gold hands. The hands are luminescent and easy to read at night but the small print of the smaller dials can be hard to read in bright light, especially for someone over forty. Overall this is an excellent watch that I've worn for 3 months now. If you are concerned about reading the small dials in bright light, consider a version with a darker background, such as black. |

I think this is a beautiful watch---it is heavy but in a quality way--thicker than most watches but long sleeve shirts will still fit over it---i am pushing 60 years old---the old eyesight isn't what it used to be---my only complaint is that the gold watch hands don't show up as well as i would like against the white background of the face---i went to a retail store to see the watch in person before i bought it--took my wife with me---this watch comes in two color/models---i liked it with the silver and black dial(snp007)---i could see it better and it was an 007 (i guess i've seen too many Bond movies in my life)---my wife thought this gold and white dial was more elegant---i think i would prefer readability over elegance but i still love this watch---have had many compliments on it---including my wife---so it must be the watch for me!!
Take a test drive at a retail store--Macy's has a large selection of Seikos but not all stores carry all models--call first!! |

| I purchased this watch two years ago after my 12 year old Sports150 conked out. I love the automatic time adjustment and energy saving feature when placed in a drawer. I used to purchase batteries every year - this has no batteries to replace. As another reviewer mentioned, the hands blend into the watch face but for me it is simply a reminder to get my glasses on!are |

Watch is handsome, keeps excellent time, has great Seiko kinetic, indeed great perpetual kinetic technology, but ...
It is a Giant Monster Watch, unbelievably heavy, astonishingly large, with broad inflexible sides to which the steel watchband attaches (those sides appear to be the first two band links on either side of the watch, but that appearance is cosmetic only as they do not flex).
The result - - one of the most uncomfortable watches to wear imaginable. No matter where the watch is placed on the arm, its astonishing bulk will pull it down so that it pushes into the upper portion of the hand. If worn on the left hand, the potruding knob will eventually guage a dent in the top of the hand. If the wrist is bent upwards, depending upon the position of the watch at the time (and its weight and gravity determine its position), the upward wrist motion is significantly restricted by the watch (don't do pushups with it on, as you will surely break your wrist). If you tighten the band to attempt to hold the watch on the arm above the wrist, the heavy watch and tight band combination will cause significant discomfort, and sooner or later, due to the weight of the watch, it will slip down onto the wrist joint, where a tight steel watchband will cause the watch to threaten to break the bones in your wrist with every movement.
I should return this watch to Amazon, but its band has been adjusted (and then readjusted) to try to obtain some comfort. Also, I do not want to add to my troubles with Amazon concerning this watch. My first try at purchasing this watch from Amazon direct resulted in my being sent a previously returned watch sold to me as brand new (I returned it). On this second go around, it took numerous contacts with Amazon and Seiko before either would confirm that Seiko would honor the warranty (it would for watches sold direct by Amazon, not third party vendors).
BTW, I have a normal sized wrist, and have not experienced a problem with Amazon previously, and I would love this watch, and its many good qualities, were it possible to wear it in comfort.

I've owned this for over a year now. It's one of the best (in my opinion) looking watches you can buy, and I get compliments all the time on it. Many people think I have a lot of money seeing how good this looks!
Not having to worry about batteries or changing the date is why I started looking at this line of watches.
I bought my wife one too, but the women's isn't kinetic unfortunately. Maybe I should have purchased an eco-drive instead for her. |

| If you're this far into reading the reviews, you must still be unconvinced about this watch. This is my 2nd Seiko Kenitic watch and I would buy a 3rd if and when I find another that catches my eye. Like you've probably read before, the watch truely does look marvelous around your wrist and the pictures absolutely does no justice to it. I was lucky enough to get this watch at over 50% off (the watch periodically goes on sale for over half the MSRP of $725 so, you do the math. If you're patient enough to wait for a sale I recomend waiting until then; there is no sense in paying full price when you can get it for a much better price) I've read other reviews on this and some are commenting about how bulky and heavy the watch is; look, the watch is built to last well over the year 2100 so the case should be built with that in mind. Like I said, you can't go wrong with this one. |
