| Many people have complained about this melting or burning to the back of their 360. I didn't heed those warnings and decided to purchase the product anyways assuming it must be something they are doing wrong. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. First I keep my system in a well ventilated area but figured the extra fans couldn't hurt right...WRONG...Everything worked fine for a few weeks when all of a sudden the intercooler had some sort of freak out session that sent a puff of smoke into the air and left the plastic melted to the back of my 360. I literally had to get a utility knife to cut the plastic apart to remove the unit. My 360 still works; however, if something were to go wrong with it I don't know if I'd still qualify for the warranty as my case has burn marks which I'm sure Microsoft would consider neglect or abuse. Trust me, stay away from this product. |

I couldn't believe it when my friend warned me about my intercooler. He said they have been melting onto xbox360s but I didn't believe him. I have been using my intercooler for nearly 2 years (bought it when I first got my xbox) and have never had a problem with it.
First off, it runs pretty silently so I guess I'm lucky there. Second, I've had it for 2 years and never took it off until now. It was not melted or damaged in anyway. It doesn't come into contact with any metal on my xbox. I guess some xbox's have a metal grate on the back, but my grate was plastic. The metal part is like half a cm in from the plastic part and makes no contact.
That being said, it seems this product is loud and dangerous on most xbox360s. For some reason, it just works really well with mine so I'm lucky. I got it when it was first released so maybe my build of the xbox was the buld it was developed on? Thats the only reason I can think of that it would work this well for me and so poorly for other people.
I would have given this a 1 star review if it ruined my xbox. Also, I did get the RROD when I first installed it, but this is because it wasn't connected completely. If the power chord is loose on the xbox at all you will get an RROD, but it's not really an RROD because if you insert the powerchord (or intercooler) in completely this ring will go away instantly.
This is the reason so many people get the RROD when they first install this. They have not inserted the intercooler completely into the xbox, so the ring comes up to warn that the powerchord is not plugged in completely.
I'm gonna keep using mine for now. Hopefully it will keep preforming as well as it has. If it starts making noise I will get a different cooler. It seems that it starts rattling or making louder fan noise before it melts onto any system (according to the other reviewers.) |

"DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!!! IT WILL BREAK YOUR XBOX" | 2008-06-08 |

I recently had to pay a third party vendor to PRY this item off of my Xbox 360 Elite. You see when Xbox was created it wasn't designed well, it generates too much heat inside the case and that heat WILL FUSE, MELT TO, PERMANENTLY ATTACH, this device to your Xbox.
Oh and it's from a NON-MICROSOFT Vendor, so it voids the warranty when you send it in to them, or remove it yourself.
Buy a usb laptop cooler instead, airflow is really all you need.
P.S. I gave it one star because 'no stars' was not an option! |

| This product started off well and kept my console nice and cool for about 2 months. But eventually it started making a rattling noise that stopped after I messed with it for a little while but later that day as I put in a new game and as it started I glanced overt at my 360 and noticed a bright red light!(bumbumbum) After further inspection it was only 1 light meaning a hardware failure as ,opposed to the RRoD, which disappeared as soon as I removed the inter cooler. So even though it may not cause catastrophic failure I would recommend against buying this and instead opt for a small fan to place behind your 360. |

| It's great for my xbox360. When I play it for long hours I don't have to worry about it over heating. The only thing is that when you first get it if you have a new xbox360 you have to take a plastic piece out of it with needle nose pliers or it will not fit. |

| It kept my 360 cool, but after about a month I started getting the 3 red blocks(where the player green icons are) and it pretty much means that something isnt connected properly. After having my game messed up several times, I removed the cooler on the back, and never had the problem again. Also I had my 360 since they came out, and still use it and i never overheated, so buying this is pretty much worthless |

| I used this the first month I had the 360...and then I got the red lights of doom. Turns out is was just the connection via the cooler. Once I took it off I have had zero issues...and that was over 2 years now. (Forgot to do a review till now) So, only get this if your 360 is in a place with poor venting. Otherwise it is a waste of money. |
