"Works great... 'til it stops working" | 2008-10-04 |

| I was really pleased with this monitor, which I ordered after reading through all the various reviews here. The good reviews are true: nice picture, clear signal, minimal static with proper placement, and very conveniently portable. Unfortunately, the bad reviews are true, too: these things do go on the fritz now and then. br /br /In our case, we've only had the monitor for a month and something has gone wrong. The video monitor no longer gets any signal when the AC power is plugged in; oddly, it works fine when I pull the plug out and it goes on battery power.br /br /I feel confident that, based on other customers' stories here, Summer will go ahead and exchange my defective monitor without a major hassle. I do recommend that anyone who buys a baby monitor should hang on to their store receipt and original packaging; these gadgets appear to be more prone to defects and failure than other electronics. |

"Rest easy with this monitor" | 2008-09-23 |

| I'm so glad I bought this monitor with the larger 2.5" screen. We are able to see our daughter clearly even in black-and-white mode. Note that there needs to be good bright lighting in the bedroom for it to show color mode clearly. br /br /This monitor has great reception, as I can take it down to the garage to do laundry or out to our patio to water the plants. It does generate some interference when we set it near our computers or tv. br /br /You do have to keep it plugged in for it to show the picture constantly, otherwise it goes into standby mode with only sound (you have to press the top button to get picture). br /br /I do wish that they had numbered volume settings on the side so I can always set it at the same level every night. I find myself fidgeting with it each night to get just the right amount of sound. We have a sound machine that runs in her room at night, so we try not to make it too loud. br /br /All in all, this will save you the hassle of running to the baby's room all the time. Good quality and effective! |

"I can see the neighbor's baby." | 2008-09-22 |

| We discovered that if we held the monitor at a certain angle we could see the neighbor's sleeping baby. Which means that they could probably see us too. Other than that issue, the monitor works. |

"Total Piece of Junk" | 2008-09-17 |

| My wife and I ordered this monitor to watch out daughter as we transitioned her from a crib to a regular bed. The monitor only gives a decent picture if the monitor and receiver are very, very close to each other (i.e. The Same Room!). Our bedroom is directly over our daughter's room and the picture quality is awful. I would not recommend anybody purchase this monitor. |

"Its a good video monitor for the price" | 2008-09-12 |

| I'm sure its not the best video monitor out there but it might be the best one for the price. It works well to keep an eye on my daughter from the other room while I am working. I only wish it had a wider viewing angle to see more areas in the room. |

"Good monitor - short battery life" | 2008-08-20 |

We are probably the opposite of a lot of parents with our use of the monitor. Some think the video is frivolous and all you need is the audio. Others find the audio monitors to be too sensitive. We were more to the latter. The microphone on the monitor is soooo sensitive that any sniffle, whimper or cry sounds 10 times worse than it is. Our house is small enough that we can hear our daughter cry without a monitor so we keep the volume turned off. Still the led lights give you an idea of how much noise is in the room, and we feel very reassured by the video. Being able to see her without going in and disturbing her more has been a great help in deciding when to give our daughter a chance to soothe herself and when we need to go in and help her calm down. Her body language tells as much about her needs as her cry.
The monitor is decent. It isn't a great picture, especially in the dark. The color in the day is lousy, but we didn't need pretty pictures in this monitor. We wanted mobility. For this it has been good.
One down side for us is the short battery life. The auto-off screen when the monitor is running on battery is a good feature, but the monitor still runs out of juice really quickly. We have had it 4 or 5 months, and it gets worse as time goes by. Still, it does the trick.
Another downside is the mount. It isn't a very solid mount for the camera. So far, we haven't even hung it on the wall. We have it taped to a tripod away from our daughter's crib which makes it portable.
All in all, we like the camera. |

This is a great monitor, we bought it to monitor our first baby and the video/audio quality is excellent.. It even works with good reception between multi-floor house and even from outside the house. The only thing that I would say is pretty badly designed is the fact that if your next door neighbor has the same unit the signal from his unit would show up on your monitor and you'd be looking at his kids and vice-versa.. I think this is a bad design and security risk and should be corrected. |

| We first owned the big B&W monitor from Summer Infant, which crapped out just after the 1-yr warranty expired, and they wanted $50 to fix it. We ended up buying this one instead, as uneasy as we were about buying another Summer Infant product. Well, I only wish we hadn't cheaped-out and just bought this one first. You couldn't ask for anything more at this price. Reception is good over our entire 3400 sq. ft. house, sound captures whispers clearly, and the "snooze" button feature is great. We've been using ours for probably 4 years w/o fail. We did replace the rechargeable battery just recently since it stopped holding a charge for very long, but with all the use, I can't believe it even lasted this long. The replacement came quickly and reasonably priced directly from Summer Infant. They have completely redeemed themselves to me with the high quality of this product. |
