| I have owned a Kirby for 30 years but have heard and read so many positive things about the Dyson that I decided to give it a try. It does have great suction and the dirt canister is very easy to empty. The accessories are self contained and easy to switch to. The vacuum is a bit heavy to maneuver, but I think it does a great job of cleaning. I can tell by looking at the nap of my carpet that it is really pulling up the dirt. I would recommend it. |

| You really don't know how dirty your house might be until you've used this vacuum. And just for sh@ts and giggles, I used my old vaccum on my living room carpet before I used the Dyson. Can I tell you that the Dyson picked up more stuff off the carpet using it second, to the old vacuum going first. The only downfall to this vacuum is it's a little heavy. But the hose that comes with it is plenty long enough to reach your entire stair case. And the turning is really just flick of the rist. If I can use this vacuum with just having had back surgury, and still have carpal tunnel I'm contending with, believe me, it's worth the money. |

"POWER House of a Machine! ... A few recommendations though." | 2008-09-24 |

This vacuum cleaner is really quite amazing. Mine arrived in brand new condtion although the hard floor attachment had a little dust on the brushes like it had been used before. Still everything else looked brand new.
It snapped together into shape very fast and this machine was fairly easy to quickly understand how to use with the exception of one thing for me. Every time I put my foot on the white foot pedal initially I could not get the vacuum to unlock from it's base so I could tilt it lower to start vacuuming. I would press and press with my feet and often times could not get it to release. I sometimes felt is was pushing way too hard with my foot to release the base from the wheel base, then I realized I didn't need to press hard at all on the foot pedal, but just needed to look about 4 inches above the white foot pedal when trying to release which is actually a silver bracket like portion of machine which extends upwards from wheels on back of vacuum. All you have to do while pressing on white pedal with foot is look upwards from pedal at silver bracket popping out enough to lean machine back to vacuum.
I also love the fact that this has a detachable handle to vacumm by hand with various attachments for stairs and other tight spots. I do find the hose can feel a little stiff at times when moving it different directions, but overall I think this is just a great machine with great suction. I have a cat and this has made my life much easier and I was previously using an upright Eureka which was about 20 years old and this just totally blows that one away.
The cosmetics of the machine remind me of something futuristic kind of like a martian kind of design as another reviewer mentioned I believe.

"Dyson Sucks... it's a good thing!" | 2008-09-24 |

| Very Happy with our buy. We can tell it has a powerful suction because the carpet lifts up when we use the hand tool on the stairs. The good thing is that it will stay that way since it's a Dyson. Oh, but don't tell anyone we only spent $269 on the unit. My wife says the ball feature really makes it easy to turn the unit while vacuuming. I like the built-in reach tool. Before, I had to attach a longer hose to vacuum the stairs. Finally, when we vacuumed the bare wood floor we noticed it sucked things right up rather than shoot things half way across the floor. Hence our conclusion is that Dyson Sucks... in a good way! In such tough times it's good to know we can get a very good product at an amazing price. Thanks Amazon! |

"Excellent suction but still has drawbacks" | 2008-09-24 |

The vacuum arrived definitely looking used. There were many scuff marks on the bottom and the sticker on the handle was worn down until it wasn't readable.
I was impressed with the suction of the vacuum and the carpets looked great when I finished vacuuming, but I received many little shocks while vacuuming. The vacuum was also a little difficult to maneuver and put a lot of strain on my wrist to move it around. |

| Design matters. This is not the best vacuum on the market - but it is the best designed. It's a game-changer. But you don't buy this vacuum if design does not matter to you. You go to Sears. And you're probably perfectly happy with your purchase. Some have compared Dyson to Apple but I think Apple's products are far more solid and polished. Admittedly, this one feels a bit like a prototype. The reconditioned DC-15 that I received has a "loose" feel to the ball mechanism. Some of the moving parts /seem/ like they might break easily. When it's running, it's quieter than the 10-year old Hoover it's replacing... but there's a high-pitched tone. It's annoying (and for this reason alone I intend to contact Dyson: Is it supposed to make this noise?). Still, this is a remarkable machine and no regrets here. This is the way I like to vote with my dollars. |

| Thought I would take a chance on this factory-reconditioned Dyson DC15 because I didn't want to spend $500.00 on a new one. Man am I happy that I did! When it arrived it was in brand new condition! Not a mark on it. Works like new and at nearly %50 of the cost of a new one.. A++ to Amazon for offering this deal. Highly recommend! My in laws have the same vacuum, and they paid over $500.00 at Target for it, this one works just as well as theirs does. I did purchase the 3yr extended warranty offered with it though. Figured that for $30.00 might be worth it. |
