What more is there to say? This is a great scanner, and for the price it can't be beat. Photos come out clean and focussed, it's reasonably quick and works well.
I've hooked this up to two PCs - one Windows XP SP3 and one Vista 64 bit. Both installed just fine and scanned without any additional setup. The bundled editor is fine enough if you need some basic touchup capabilities.
If you need a good consumer level scanner, this is it! |

"Slides look great!" | 2008-09-26 |

| I LOVE this scanner. I bought it just for slides, and it works wonderful. It took me awhile to determine which direction the slides were to go in so everyone had their wedding band on the correct hand, etc, but after that, things look great. People can't believe the photos I send them were once slides! I am very pleased. |

"Great Product!" | 2008-09-15 |

This scanner is a great deal for this price. I purchased it for a personal project of scanning in negatives. It takes about 4 minutes for the whole process with a 4-framed negative, including the preview scan, scanning in each frame and forwarding to save on the computer.
The quality and color of the images is excellent for ordering even 8X10 images. The software that comes with the product is fine, although I use photo shop CS. It is easy to install and use.
Special note is that it will only scan standard 35 size negatives (I have not tried scanning slides). Unfortunately, after I purchases it, I realized my grandmother also had size 120 file that will not fit into this scanner. I believe it should scan 110 film as well, but I have not tried that yet either.
I do recommend this scanner for personal projects, the timing isn't bad for the price. The ONLY major problem I found was that after a little while (maybe 10-18 negative strips), I find that the software has an error and I have to restart the software and re-scan the last negative. However, that is small in comparison to the price and quality that I am getting. |

| Most of my work with this scanner has been capturing 35 mm slides taken in the 1940's and 50's. Printed images have been very clear while I am still learning the sort and save options. The scanner is relatively fast considering my tasks. I would like to get another slide holder so I can be loading one tray while one is scanning. I don't know if these trays are available. I have really enjoyed this resonably priced additon to my computer. I have also scanned just a few regular photos which seem to be captured in very good quality. |

"CanoScan4400F Is A Very Good Scanner" | 2008-09-09 |

| I bought this scanner because I have a huge volume of slides, prints and negatives to scan and store as digital files. I am also a professional photographer who shoots weddings, portraits, sports, night scenes and nature photographs. It is crtical that I get images with great detail, sharpness, accurate color and low noise. This scanner delivers very well in all those areas. The instructions are easy to follow and set-up for any kind of scanning is very simple. And, if the original item being scanned is of high quality, the scan will be high quality, too. I have scans of old Kodachromes that have been used to make prints as large as 8"x12" with no noticeable loss of sharpness or image quality. Scanned 8"x10" prints have produced high quality prints as large as 20"x30". My only complaint is that the scanner can handle only four slides at a time or one strip of five frames from 35mm negatives. But, overall, I am very happy with the scanner. |

| This is a pretty good product. Scans can be saved as .jpg or .pdf files. One button touch for email scan. Quality is very good. So far only two negatives: does not always start the first time selected; scanned image broken into pieces. Both are rare occurrences. Would I buy it again, YES! |

"Easy to Use, Decent Scans" | 2008-08-23 |

I bought this scanner because we had slides my father had taken in the 1950's in France & Germany when he was in the service, and I wanted to get those pictures into our digital library. The scanner is easy to use, does a decent job, we ended up with better than I had thought we would for picture quality, and everyone is loving being able to look at the slides that heretofore were relegated to a box in the attic. I haven't used it for anything but slides, as I have other scanners, but I have done about 500 slides. I haven't experimented too much with the various settings, but I didn't have any problems making the thing work.

"Great scan quality and Fair price, just a bit big for my desk!" | 2008-08-17 |

| This scanner gives really amazing quality scans. I scanned an image of a wedding invitation (with ultra-spidery curly-Q type that was about 1/4 or less tall) and was able to blow up each letter to fill half my computer screen before I could even start to see the pixels. It was easy to instal and use, though it came with a few photo programs that I ended up installing before I realized I did not need them. Works quietly and quickly, and is very compatible with my Intel MacBook and Photoshop CS3. The only small complaint I have is that it is a bit larger than your average scanner; About 5" longer and it is at least 4" tall, so I did have to re-arrange my desk set-up. Overall, though, it was totally worth it! |
