Here is what people are saying about the iTouchless Stainless Steel Hands-Free Infrared Automatic Trash Can (13 Gallon)
"Over Two years, and still works like a charm!" | 2009-12-09 |

After having this trash can for over two years, I guess it is time to write a review.
Pros:
-Batteries last LONG LONG Time. About 18-24 months worth with use every day.
-Easy to clean
-Plastic support ensures the trash bag will not "fall through"
-Light weight
-Truely Touchless
Cons:
- Took a while to understand that when you press the "open" button, you cant just close it, otherwise it wont open back up. You need to press the "close" button after.
This little guy has been running strong for 2 years and it looks like it should be able to handle another 2 years without a problem. Uses 4 D batteries that will last forever. (No idea how it does it) |

"Smaller than thought, but good product" | 2009-12-08 |

This trash can is identical to the one I had before, but the lid broke and I wanted to replace it. However, this can was much shorter than my first one and yet claimed to be the same size. Otherwise, this is a good product.

"Simple, clean, and fun!" | 2009-12-08 |

I got one of these foa couple of months ago and love it! Everyone who comes over comments on it and it's always good for a laugh when an unsuspecting person walks too close and it opens. My dog who is tall enough to reach the lid has sniffed at it a few times but it always freaks her out when it opens so she stays well away from it most of the time.
I was hesitant when I read the reviews about the gears on the lid but unless someone is opening and closing it repeatedly by hand I can't see it being a problem. The opening is smaller than a regular trash can but after a day or two you get used to it and I haven't found it to be too small at all. I have regular Duracell batteries in mine (leftovers from that Kmart deal ages ago!) and haven't had to replace them yet. The sensor isn't quite as sensitive as the listing says, it's more like 2-3 inches but the placement makes that easy anyway and the lid opens fairly fast. I absolutely love it when my hands are covered with grease or dough and because we're not continually touching it with dirty hands it stays much cleaner than other lidded thrash cans. I do wish the actual power switch was in a different spot. It's right on the back of the lid so the can has to be kept about an inch from the wall to keep it from being turned off but that's a really minor thing compared to the rest of the conveniences! |

"2 years running" | 2009-12-08 |

| We have been using this iTouchless trach can for two years. It is located in our kitchen so it gets used everyday by three people. We have not had one single problem or issue with it. Our cats did not like it at first, but after a few weeks it does not bother them the slightest. Battery life is amazing, still running on the first set. Its so easy to use and keep clean. When making dinner we just leave the lid open. My only complaint is that somtimes I find myself waiting for other trashcans to open when I know darn well theres a button I have to push first. I could love an all black option for this model for the bedroom. |

"ROBO-CAN" | 2009-12-05 |

| We've had the iTouchless trash can for about a month and it has performed well with one exception. The sensing mechanism is a little too sensitive for where we have it sitting and it will open when we walk too close to it. Other than that we like it. |

"This trash can died way too soon!" | 2009-12-04 |

| My husband bought the 13gal itouchless stainless steel can for $200 three years ago and it was pretty cool... until I walked by it one night in the dark and it opened and scared the heck out of me. I tried moving it to different places in our small kitchen to no avail. Also, sometimes it just didn't open fast enough and I'd end up with a mess on the side of the can. Within a year it started making a horrible grinding sound when it opened then a spring popped out and that was the end. I do like the stainless steel can, and we do still have it...we've just opened it by hand for the past two years. The cool factor is definitely high but it eats batteries and didn't last anywhere near the 200k openings the product details boast. That said, I just saw one with an a/c adapter for $56 on Amazon which is cheaper than the step-on stainless steel trash cans. hmmm...who'd have thought I'd care so much about a trash can??! |
