I'm very happy with this product. There were many versions to pick from but this is solidly made, and 3 screens make it high quality. Very effective.

I have had several zappers over the years. They all worked ok. This is absolutely the best one I have used. Battery door does need a piece of tape before being used,but this zapper seems to zap the bugs with more power than the others so it deserves 5 stars anyway.

As a previous reviewer said, the battery cover is not too sturdy; but it works, if you can get the flying bug in contact with the wires on the racket head end...some insects are very shifty. I've killed as small as fruit flies (very hard to get them to touch the wires) to flies as long as your thumbnail. It does fry them. It's not very sturdy, so don't drop it on the racket head end...gladly I have not, yet.

I got this as a gift a couple of months ago, and finally pulled it out of the package. I put batteries in, pushed the button on the side, and nothing happened...No light or anything. I figured I would try it on a fly and see if it worked even though the light didn't illuminate. I saw a fly, pushed the button, swinged, and....CRACK....the handle broke apart. I was left holding the batteries, and the racquet fell to the floor. One star is too generous.

How can a company ship out so many defective products? Read the reviews, you're about as likely to get a non-working one as a working one. I took a chance and tried it, will not be trying again.

This is an excellent zapper. The criss-cross design works well. With fresh batteries it vaporize the little fruit fly size bugs and kill the regular size flys but as the batteries wear down it will take a few zaps to get the regular size flys. Overall I recommend it, it is way better than other designs.
