| The monitor functions as advertised. I had misgivings about the product when I installed it: it seemed blurry in certain areas and I was concerned that it may have been damaged. I used the "Auto Image Adjust" feature and all of my problems went away. | |

| I've had this monitor for 2 months now. It's sharp and clear. I do a lot of spreadsheet processing and Photoshop work and the image quality is excellent.
At it's optimum resolution, 1680x1050, I find the font on all programs and web pages too small, but I simply hit Ctrl+ and I'm good to go. Still sharp and clear. I'm in front of this monitor for at least 12 hours a day and love it. Even the built in speakers are satisfactory. I use them mainly for Skype calls and sometimes Media player files. I'm very satisfied with it. | |

| The colors are wonderful and the images are crisp. I use my LCD mostly for e-mail, internet, and word processing. Photos pictures are great too. The built in speakers are nice and the unit is sleek and very easy to setup. This is a great monitor. I am very happy with it. | |

| I bought this on a whim, on sale at Circuit City to replace my LaCie CRT. At first I noticed that the text was a lot more fuzzier than my CRT and the color was way off. I spent about 2 hours trying different settings until they as close as I could get to acceptable. Later I noticed that the monitor was darker at the top and gets lighter as you go down, so a solid block of color appears as a gradation. About a couple months in the screen started displaying noise and artifacts as if some sort of interference was disturbing the picture.
By the time I had discovered this, it was too late to return it. And the thought of dealing with the notorious customer service left me cold. I'll let this be a $260 lesson and next time search out better reviews from users like me. I wish I had used the money on a $600 monitor in the first place, I guess you do get what you pay for (or maybe less). | |

| Viewsonic customer service is nonexistent and product support worse than poor. Products are poorly made and will not last. Call technical support 1800-688-6688 and see how long you have to wait for a service rep. Online you get someone to respond who barely speaks English. I bought a plasma TV for $3000 and it failed in less than 3 years. Viewsonic reaction: Too bad, you should have bought a warranty and we'll fix it in 48 hours. Without one, you are on your own. I think something bought for $3000 should last more than 3 years, and Viewsonic should too. Viewsonic intentionally builds products that won't last to sell you an expensive product warranty. I wouldn't buy Viewsonic again and don't think you should either until they built a better product and improve their customer support. | |

| If you plan on purchasing a view sonic monitor, be advised. Viewsonic does not warranty their product if you clean it with any non approved cleaning substances. Viewsonic, according to customer service representatives do not currently have any approved cleaning products, and do not recommend touching your screen. Touching your screen in anyway constitutes abuse and voids your warranty as customer damage. Viewsonic also does not recommend using ANY color calibration devices on your monitor, as it constitutes customer abuse and is not covered under warranty. I right this because I had a view sonic monitor, calibrated it, and cleaned the "recommended way" the anti glare coating stated pealing off. Even though the products website said it was approved by Viewsonic. Viewsonic said tough it is not our problem that you damaged you monitor, you voided your warranty by cleaning it. I share this as a warning. the monitor was good while it lasted the first month. | |

| We got a dozen of these monitors at work. I was so amazed, I bought one for myself. Amazon's price was better by about $20 than what my employer paid with their discount from their supplier. This monitor is HUGE, compared to my old 17" CRT monitor. But surprisingly, it takes up much less desktop space. The image quality is great. Setup was so simple, and the monitor itself is amazingly lightweight. Image response is quick and the color is rich and vibrant. Resolution is much better than what flat panel monitors of the past were capable of producing. Amazon's shipping was fast too. I had the monitor within two days of ordering. Don't know if that's the norm, but I'm not complaining. | |

| I bought this monitor for my wife about 3 months ago. A few days ago, the DVI input started malfunctioning (I would be able to display in 640x480 resolution, but not higher; also the computer would not recongnize this as a plug&play monitor). I isolated the problem to the monitor by swapping the DVI cables and trying with both a PC desktop and a Apple Macbook Pro - in all cases, the monitor would only work at 640x480 resolution. I called for warranty support. The support representative was pretty rude (much more so than the average these days). Bottom line is that the turnaround time for warranty repair would be 15 days, and there are no local service centers where I could bring it in for a quicker service. Since the VGA input still works (and the image quality is still decent - this is a plus!), I decided to opt out of warranty service this time around. | |

| I am very fussy and did a lot of research before getting this model. I have now put the model through its paces as I have been studying for exams so the computer has been getting used a lot. I have looked at photos and DVD and I have no complaints. The big screen is fantastic and NO dead pixels and very sharp with spot on colours and NO backlight variation as some reviewers have had. I'm not saying they are being untruthful. I think monitors are complex and difficult to manufacture and probably there is some variation in quality from time to time. I was going to buy a samsung 206BW or 226BW but didn't like the fact that a lot of people here in Australia had issues with the Chi Mei panels used in the Samsung panels. This put me off buying one but then the viewsonic panel is a Chi Mei and is perfect. I think with Monitors, look at the reviews but in the end you should go into the shop and maybe even get a display monitor like I did as then you know that the monitor you are choosing is a good one. I paid $360AUD from officeworks here in Perth in Western Australia. Excellent buy. The other thing I like about this monitor are the speakers (yes, the are good considering they are just 2.5W built in speakers), the huge base and the fact the monitor is several inches higher than most. The looks and build quality are also top notch. No negatives I can think of either. | |
