"Everyone I Know (Including Me) Loves This Product!" | 2008-07-26 |

I'm using this product to write the review that you're reading right here. I can't sing enough praises about it. I'm an Internet marketer, and also a ghostwriter. So as you can imagine, I do a lot of typing.
I absolutely love Dragon Naturally Speaking 9 preferred mobile version. I can sit back and just talking to my microphone and bang out far more content than I ever did before.
In this review alone, I haven't had the correct one single thing. And it's only been one day that I've had it.
I will be recommending this product to everyone I know. I'm only mad at myself for not buying it earlier.
Tiff :-) |

"Just downright awful, do NOT buy this product!" | 2008-07-23 |

I bought this product with a pre-formed idea that voice recognition software still has a long way to go, but I believed it might've gotten better (I owned an earlier version) over time. Alas, I must report it is still faster to type with a keyboard when you take into account all the extra time that's wasted editing and correcting mistakes/misspelled words.
The included digital voice recorder and its' accompanying software is not user-friendly at all. The added steps that are involved with connecting the USb cable, starting the program, finding the recording on the USB device and converting it to .wav format before it can be transcribed is exhausting. I think the question might be asked: "why did Dragon choose this Philips digital voice recorder that records in some obscure format and then has to be converted to .wav?" There are plenty of Digital voice recorders on the market, namely the RCA RP5022B which records in .wav format.
I bought this software for two reasons: I wanted to dictate into a daily journal as well as notes/thoughts for a novel.
This product does not deliver on either aspect. In short, do NOT waste the $$$ like I did! |

Do NOT buy this product! Two things they forget to mention are: 1) Does NOT install on 64-bit operating systems, doesn't mention that little problem anywhere on the box or materials, and 2) Charge $9.95 for the FIRST incident. You can't ask a question without a credit card.

"rip off of $10 for EACH call or e-mail for support!" | 2008-03-31 |

| I will definitely NOT buy this product. I refuse to be RIPPED OFF $10 for EACH AND EVERY time you e-maill or call customer service. This is totally ludicrous, and the support service should be included with the purchase of the product. Apparent Nuance Dragon Naturally Speaking is trying to squeeze every nickle and dime out of their customers. I refuse to by any product by a company that will do that to their customers. I think this is about the ONLY company that charges for their support. Try to find an alternative voice recognition software company who will support their product free of charge. SHAME ON YOU, NUANCE DRAGON NATURALLY SPEAKING. |

"So glad Microsoft messed up" | 2008-01-21 |

| I purchased Dragon NaturallySpeaking speech recognition software Dragon NaturallySpeaking 9 Preferred Mobile because Microsoft forced me to upgrade to Office 2007. I was perfectly satisfied with the speech recognition software included in Office 2003 and was intending to use the improved version in Office 2007. Fortunately for me Microsoft took the speech recognition out of Office and put it in Vista, which requires 2 GB RAM. Ouch! That would require a brand-new machine for me; my machine can only handle 1 GB RAM. By paying $160 for the Dragon I got a much better speech program *and* a hand-held digital voice notetaker. I also saved myself $3000 as I did not have to buy an all new machine and software for Vista; I can stay with XP until they get the kinks worked out. I love you Bill Gates- you really know how to push me to the good stuff! |

"DON'T BUY THIS PACKAGE" | 2007-07-05 |

| I paid more for this package on the belief that it would integrate nicely with the philips voicetracker, but it doesn't work easily. So far, I cannot get it to work at all, but think I will be able to find a work around. Also, it is somewhat challenging to make it work with the included microphone. The documentation is non existent and there is no other information available, so you are on your own. Undoubtably this is good software but sadly neglected by the provider, so I am very disappointed. |

The Dragon 9 product lines is the best speech recognition software on the market. The Dragon 9 mobile software is just as easy, and faster to use. It is 5 times faster than using the keypad. This product will allow your employee's to speak naturally to help your customers. Just a great product.

| Works okay when using a microphone. Works very poorly when using the recorder that comes with the package. I have trained Dragon, but the translating from the recorder is very bad. If I try to translate 3-4 sentences, it may get 2 or 3 words. I have used Dragon before and this is not typical of Dragon and it is not typical of using the microphone. But the application that I am using this for needs to use the recorder and I have been very disappointed. |
