| This is a simple to use tool, with easy to understand instructions. Probably written by someone who speaks and writes English as a first language. My drill bits were in fairly good shape, so it took only seconds to sharpen each bit to precision. This is a must have tool. I only wish they would come out with one that sharpens spade bits. |

The 350X works well. It gives your drill bits that edge to dig into the metal after you sharpen them.
I will be getting a lefty sharpener because sharpened bits would rock on the lefty's. |

"Excellent results on the first try." | 2008-01-27 |

I read some of the other reviews here about the learning curve. So before I even plugged my Drill Dr. in, I watched the 5-10 minute DVD that came with it (I suggest you review the alignment steps a couple of times). I then walked out into the garage and sharpened a standard bit on the first try with perfect results. Feeling encouraged, I whipped out a masonry bit and sharpened it on the first try too.
Fifty bucks buys a lot of drill bits, but I hate having to run to the hardware store in the middle of a project (and my wife really hates it when I nag her to go for me). This little tool has a permanent home in my shop. |

"Excellent present for Dad" | 2007-12-28 |

I bought this item as a Christmas present for my father. He was very excited to receive it, and started sharpening all his drill bits that morning (not exactly my idea of a good time, but if it's yours, I say go for it!). He seemed very pleased with the quality of the product, so I'd recommend it to other drill enthusiasts out there.
My only caution for gift givers is that since it comes from a third-party vendor, it's mailed in the original box (not the plain Amazon box). If you don't want to ruin the surprise, I'd recommend either arranging for someone to intercept it, or sending it to yourself to wrap. |

| I'm sorry; this tool will sharpen a drill bit OK, but having worked in a major company's cutter grinding dept., I find this unit just a tad rinky-dink. Cheaply make of plastic, it is affordable for the homeowner (me included) who wants to sharpen a bit, BUT, don't expect real precision out of a plastic cam and collet holder. |

Product seems to work well and did a good job on my metal and carbide bits. It did NOT come with a professional hard-shell carrying case as advertised, so don't expect one.

| This dude is amazing...better than I had expected. I'd been planning on buying one for years, but the price put me off, until I got a gift certificate. Wish I'd bought it years ago. It's quite easy to use, produces perfect points quickly... I went on a drill sharpening binge, did every one I could find in my shop! I'll be interested to see how the diamond wheel wears, but from what I can see, replacements are inexpensive. I highly recommend Drill Doctor for small shops. |

"Great little tool. Does as advertised." | 2007-07-17 |

Just sharpened all of my drill bits in the shop. About 60 of them. Only a few needed more than once in the jig. This was about 90% of all my drill bits. The few brad points, Forrester, and spade bits I either do it with other tools, send out, or throw away and get new ones. All in all, a great buy! Does the same job as the more expensive models if you only have regular drill bits to sharpen. Takes about 10 minutes of reading and fiddling around, then I was doing great every time. Make sure to have a magnifying glass or a loupe. The only real way to mess up is to have the bit in the jig off centered (usually just the wee sized bits). Even a couple of new bits benefited from the sharpening as they are polished to make them look better. All of the bits drilled a lot smoother and faster after sharpening. Really does improve the bit to have is sharp! What do I see under the magnifier? Dull bits have their cutting edge bent over, the corner edge is not sharp, and the peak is not well defined. Afterwards, a shiny new surface, crisp peak, a perfect edge and truly sharp corners. The diamond wheel felt perfectly fine after all of my bits so should last for years. I cleaned it with an pencil eraser (like my sanding belts!) then cleaned the dust chamber. The wheel can also be flipped to expose the other end for double the life.

"Awesome tool." | 2007-04-07 |

For some reason, beyond me, I always saved my dull drill bits in a shoe box instead of throwing them away. Now I know why. Subconsciously, I must have been waiting for this sharpener to appear. This is truly an awesome tool. It is very easy to use and really sharpens old drill bits fast (both wood/steel and masonry).
I really didn't have to go through the learning curve. With the caveats posted, I took the time (10 minutes) to view the instructional DVD and was able to get excellent results right away. The only difficulty is with the small 3/32 bits. This will just take a little more practice.
With the 50 or so old drill bits in my shoe box now sharpened I've essentially paid for the tool already. I ordered the extra diamond wheel just to save me a trip to the store but it might be a while before I need it. After the first 50 the wheel is still in real good shape. I turned it around just for good measure (very easy to do, also) when I was doing the clean up after finishing.
Overall this is a great tool. Now I can't wait to dull up the bits so that I can sharpen them again. It's kind of fun. Especially if you ever tried to sharpen drill bits on a bench top grinder.
