I've used a gas powered hedgetrimmer for 15 years. It was heavy and hard to trim the hedges evenly. I love this trimmer; it seems just as powerful as the gas powered one, but it is half the weight! It is easier to trim my hedges evenly. Thanks

I've used it twice. The 24" blade makes it easy to make even passes and to span across the top of my 8' high by 3' diameter yew. The in-line placement of the motor, puts the weight of the motor away from the handle, joining the weight of the blade. This makes it difficult to control. This can be compensated for by locking the switch in the on position and holding the "D" shaped handle that's placed above the motor.

I have a Sears 18" 2.8amp trimmer, but I needed more cutting power so I bought the Hedge hog 24". It was definitely an improvement, not as much blade speed but greater cutting power. Hedge branches from 1/4" were very easy, but 1/2" took some work but still cut. I researched online many trimmers and for the price/usefulness thought this was the best for my money. I have 40-50 ft of hedges on both sides of my yard, but if I had double the hedges, I might have considered a more powerful and heavy duty trimmer.

Super sharp, long reach and easy to handle. The blade however is a little weak and easy to bend it you put the trimmer down the wrong way; be careful! Good value, hope it lasts 12 years like my old one!

I knew I wanted an electric, corded, hedge trimmer; so I read all the Amazon.com reviews for this type product. The B&D HH2450 model had more 5-star reviews than all other brands, so that's why I purchased it. It is easy to use and cuts my hedge like a hot knife through butter. I'd rate this as an excellent trimmer and the long 24 inch blades give me the 'reach' needed to cut our 'deep' hedge. Another plus is the relatively light weight given it's size/length and more than adequate power of the motor. Use it properly by planning your cutting path and keeping the cord away from the blades at all times; and it will serve you well. David Ellis

Recieved the B & D trimmer and same day trimmed all my hedges. There are many. Not one problem. I've used a gas powered trimmer for 18 years. Never again. This is lighter and easier to handle plus less noise. Yes, there is a cord,but, was still easier to use. Would buy another in a minute.

This thing is a lot heavier than I expected. It cuts well, but it will not come close to cutting 3/4 inch branches as advertised. In fact, it takes multiple efforts to cut 1/2 inch branches. If you need a long hedger, this is a good choice, but remember, it's heavy!

I have alot trees and hedges and i have worked with alot of different brands over the years, and by FAR this is the best hedge trimmer i've ever worked with...it cuts very easy and for real 3/4 of inch branches , its light weight, and the balance on this trimmer is great...its a commercial grade trimmer ,but electric, and WELL worth the money.... i wanted to write this review and i hope it helps, it seems like alot of products these days aren't as good as yester year but this one is, it will take you back to when products you bought was more reliable and not replacing them every couple of months... Black and Decker has a winner here with the HH2450 you won't be disappointed..
