I bought this for canoe trip with 4 canoes. It worked well, played for a long time. It did not play as loud as I would have hoped for all of us to hear.
I now keep it in the shower and it works just fine. Keeps all dry. I use it for my ipod video player and it fits perfectly. |

| I love this product!! Everywhere I looked for this it was at least 100.00, when I found it here for 1/2 the price, I had to get it. It works great and will come in handy for the next river trip!!! It also works great with other MP3 players; not just Ipods. I have a Opal from RCA and it fits into the player just fine. There are several different inlays you can use to fit your MP3 snuggly!! |

"Great for water aerobics in the pool!!" | 2009-07-31 |

| I had been looking for this waterproof Ipod speaker for a while and then decided to go on-line and I found it!! I do water aerobics in my indoor pool where I live almost every morning. I used it for the first time today. I loved it!!! Has a great sound quality and louder than I expected. I would not intentionally put in the water. But if it gets splased at least I know my Ipod is protected! I'm just a little dissapointed with the outside membrane that covers the wheel. It's hard to manipulate and since you shouldn't open with wet hands or if unit is wet you are restricted, so a playlist would be good to use or a long album. All in all, I'm very happy that I bought it!! |

I recently wrote the review below, I just wanted to follow up: The company replaced the product even though I was out of warranty. What a way to stand by your product, very exceptional. I coudn't give them 5 starts because one broke, hopefully its not a flaw in the product.
""""" I got this as a gift for xmas in 07, I thought it was a great idea since my last iPod got waterlogged at the beach. Even though I was a bit afraid to float out in the water with it, it worked great at first. The sound quickly dies if water gets on the speakers, but since it floats great on the surface, just pour it out and keep rocking. I noticed if you cranked it too high the sound would get distorted and it automatically reduces the volume. It would still put out good sound for a person or two. (and yes I turned my iPod to the recommended sound level)
Keep in mind I dont live near a beach, so I use only on vacations. I got maybe 3-4 trips with it then the rubber ripped where it connects to the speaker!!!! WATER GOT IN THE DEVICE! I quickly pulled my iPod out. I hadnt even changed the batteries, it still had the ones it was packaged with!!! Sucks for a $100ish device to break that quick. I only used it at the beach or river, no harsh pool chemicals. I am going to try warranty but its been a year and a half, the warranty is for one year. If anything happens I'll follow up here. I was so tired of leaving my iPod outside the shower door hooked up to a small portable speaker. There was no way to change songs, audiobooks or volume without risking my iPod and/or getting freezing cold! Finally, I found an affordable waterproof iPod case with speakers built in - the eGo Waterproof Sound Case with Dual Speakers. The casing is high quality transparent plastic (thick, heavy duty plastic that seems unlikely to break or crack easily) with high quality rubber seals and o-rings. It runs on 4AA batteries. Importantly, you have two choices about how you set up the eGO Waterproof Sound System in your shower:
(1) you can set the system up on its fold-out prop (similar to a picture frame's prop, only sturdier); or (2) you can use the enclosed nylon strap (also high quality) to hang the system from your showerhead or similar fixture in your shower.
I was very impressed with the sound quality of the speakers, the sleek look of the casing and the options for placing the system up so that you are happy with location and sound quality. Most importantly, you can change the track you are listening to as well as the volume while you are soaking wet in the shower! WARNING: Turning off the eGo doesn't mean you have turned off your iPod! Be careful to turn off both the iPod and the eGo when you're done with your shower. RECOMMENDED! |
