This is a fine speaker and it is remarkably easy to set up, especially if you have a Sony receiver. It was a simple matter of plugging it in, with no wires to connect. I have thoroughly tested it at all ranges of sound and there is no distortion, static or vibration. It is a fine product and I highly recommend it, especially at this great price.

This Sony subwoofer is an excellent addition to a low-end system to add some depth to the sound from your music or movies. The enclosure is relatively compact, so there is not a huge "boom-boom" like from the larger speakers, but it adds a dimension to the audio experience that is otherwise lacking with boxed sound systems. This is certainly an add-on for a 5.0 home theatre set-up to make it 5.1 with little expense. The product is priced very aggressively and I found it to be an entirely satisfactory choice given its inherent limitations.

I recently purchased this subwoofer to complete my 5.1 surround sound setup. I have a small living room (14x12 approx.) so I didn't need to buy a large sub. This one gives enough bass to fill this room and much more. I read some negative reviews about sound quality with this sub, but I have no issues with it whatsoever. It works great for all my PS3 gaming and blue-ray watching needs. You won't regret buying this.

An amazing subwoofer for the price. You can easily purchase better subwoofers but I use mine for improving the sound on my TV and it makes a tremendous difference. At that price, your not going to find better.

It sounds good and I have not had any problem with it.The fact that I do not have to get up and turn it on every time I turn on my entertainment system makes it great. It comes on as soon as a sound goes through it.And turns off if there is no sound input.Good product I love it.Sony SA-W2500 Performance Line 100 Watt Subwoofer
"Great for a small room"

I was a bit skeptical about this sub, due to some of the other reviews. Our house is only 1300 sq ft and the living room area is only about 12 x 16. I really don't need a large sub. I decided to give this a try and, if it was too small, upgrade to a larger one. It worked out great.
I bought the SA-W2500 sub along with the matching rear and center channel speakers to go along with my current front tower speakers. I was very impressed that $200 could make such a difference in the sound of TV and movies. We have had an A/V receiver for almost 10 years and never hooked up anything except a pair of stereo speakers to it. Now I feel foolish for missing out all of that time. I am not sure which I like better, the center channel or the sub. The sub may be a bit small for larger rooms. But, it works great for us.
BTW - in order to get the receiver to fire the sub, you may need to change the speaker size of the fronts and surrounds on your receiver to small - whether the speakers are small or not.
