| All I need to say is that the noise canceling on these headphones is very good. I could barely hear any noise or passengers when I'm using them on the bus. Sound quality is very excellent too, every single note is reproduced faithfully. I don't think you can do much better than this, its Bose quality without the price. |

"No more NOISY airplane rides - PLUS fantastic music on the computer!" | 2008-10-05 |

Honestly I thought all this "noise cancelling" headphones stuff was just pure HYPE - but NOT SO! Our first use of these amazing headphones came on the airplane (had a 3 leg trip about 12 hours total trip time). The plane didn't "seem" that noisy at first, but we thought, hey we bought them for the plane, let's see what they can do. Put them on and turned on the noise canceling feature - and WOW! We were truly amazed, and just to be sure of the difference, we'd take them away from our ears from time to time to see the change. The last leg of the trip was an American Airlines Eagle (puddle hopper" plane) - and it had a horrible roar. Even with these amazing headphones, it was still really annoying, but WAY worse without them. Fortunately that flight was only 45 minutes long.
WELL worth the money spent, and when used with the music on the plane, SO MUCH better than the airplane headphones that you'll want to feel sorry for the poor sods who are using the airplane headphones! Then there's what they do for your music on the computer or portable devices!!!
I can't recommend them enough. My ears and my sanity thank Audio-Technica. |

"Perfect for airline travel" | 2008-10-05 |

Purchased these headphones for long-distance air travel. They were great in cutting out most of the jet engine noise, while still allowing me to converse with my wife. Also good for watching the movies. I love the travel case with its pouch for storage of cord and adapter plugs. All very light weight and comfortable fit. I suppose cancelling 100% of undesirable noise is impossible since some noise vibrations enter the ear canal via jaw bones and skull. I will never fly again without these headphones. Great purchase and value. |

| Now, these headphones don't eliminate screaming from a 2-year old, but do a great job with eliminating TV noise and constant and consistent noise. Work wonderfully in airports, on a plane, in a crowded place. I bought them to help me study for nursing school with my three young children hanging around and having to sneak in studying while waiting during piano lessons, swim lessons, soccer practice, etc. The earphones are very comfortable for long wear. The only reason I don't give them a full 5 stars is how big they are, bulky. They're hard to carry around in your purse/backpack. But they do an excellent job for the price and were much more reasonable than their more expensive competitors. |

"Good Quality, value to money, but poor sound leaking" | 2008-09-25 |

| I have done some extensive research before purchasing this earphone. Compare with Bose, the price is definitely much cheaper, especially with some coupons and discount (only cost me around 40 bucks). The build quality is great, the size is big, but working amazingly well in noise cancelling business. But there is some pressure issue to me as well when not listen to music and use it as a pure noise cancelling phone, same to Bose. The battery life is amazing, I took two long flight (30+ hrs), and the AAA is still working.br /br /Only two complaints from me: 1, the phone size is big, takes longs of my brief bag's space; 2, the sound leaking is very serious, if you listen to the music in a relatively quite room, everyone can hear your music, I mean they can actually hear what you are listening to. But in the very noise environment, i.e. Flight cabin, I don't think it is a big deal. As the noise level is so high, and you will appreciate that you make the purchase decision.br /br /In conclusion, this is a great piece of noice cancelling earphone, and it does work amazingly. It is definitely a value to the money product. If you don't want to pay premium for Bose, this is definitely the best alternate in the market. Cheers. |

| I was just given a pair of these for my birthday, and I have to say they are going right back.br /With Noise canceling turned off everything sounds muted and not even close to the quality that my $20 Sony's do.br /With Noise Canceling turned on, suddenly everything is bright and crisp and almost, but not exactly hiding the static.br /Now, if I want static, these are great, if I want to always run the noise canceling, they are outstanding. But, otherwise, I would never recommend them. |

| I bought these headphones for their noise-cancelling feature, not to listen to music. They do a great job compared to other headphones I have bought. Other headphones mask the noise by introducing another noise like static. The Audio-Techna headphones emit a nearly soundless frequency that cancels the outside noise so that there is no or very little noise at all. |

| I purchased these several months ago for purposes of business travel on planes. These headphones defintely reduce the amount of noise that can be heard on the planes, even when you're not listening to music. When music is on though, you cannot hear even the engines of the planes when you're sitting over or just behind the wings. These headphones have allowed much needed relaxation on long flights, and I would strongly recommend them to anyone doing heavy travel. |

I am by no means an audiophile so this will not be a technical review of these headphones discussing highs, midtones, or bass. I'm simply someone who wants to listen to my podcasts or music without having to turn the volume up to dangerous levels just to drown out the noise around me.
That being said, in my humble opinion, these are fantastic headphones. I've tried (in store) both models of the Bose Quiet Comfort headphones as well as the Beats by Dr. Dre and I think the Audio-Technicas easily compete with all of them, yet at a fraction of the price. The Bose and Beats are well over $300 and yes they're nice but much of that price is Name Brand related. I've been using the Audio-Technicas and they sound beautiful, they're comfortable, noise cancellation is very effective, build quality is very nice and, at the time of this review, they're selling for $109 which means you can buy 3 for the price of one of the competitors. |
