My son loves spongebob but doesn't put them together. Between my daughter and husband we put it together. It took a lot of time but my son loves it.

My son is building a large Lego collection. He is especially into the spongebob sets right now, because he is 5, but the lego's have been great for his coordination and creativity. He loves the chum bucket. AWESOME
"My 8 year-old son loves this set"

My son loves Legos, but usually has a difficult time completing the larger sets. He completed this one easily, and enjoys playing with it as well. It holds together well, but he had a somewhat difficult time forming the fist on top of the bucket. For those children who enjoy SpongeBob, this is a very enjoyable set.

This Grandma scored a touchdown when she sent the Spongebob Scum Bucket. With all the available toys today,it is a challenge to find one the child likes and does not already own.
He was thrilled with it and has played with it many times since.
Legos are a bit expensive but worth it - and the child uses his imagination, increases dexterity, and has a lot of fun all at the same time.
Best of all,he takes on a task and learns the satisfaction that comes from successful completion.
If you buy this toy be prepared to add some additional pieces and make some major changes before you have something munchkins can actually play with - as far as kids loving it, definitely passes that test my 5 and 3 year old can't get enough of it - however, as with many lego sets, keeping it all together in one piece is a serious problem ... it seems like if you so much as touch it the wrong way the chumbucket falls apart - after putting it back together again for the tenth time I finally got a large flat thin "plate" of lego (also called a lego baseplate if you're looking to buy one) to anchor the chumbucket to, 16 by 32 (e.g. 16 by 32 "dots" wide) and got rid of some pieces on the bottom of the chumbucket - this meant changing it's somewhat round shape to a straight "wall" shaped structure, which my kids didn't mind at all but which older kids might find irritating since it will no longer look like the chumbucket from the TV show ... when THAT didn't work and it kept falling apart I built up a small "wall" of 2 by 2 (two "dots" wide on a side) bricks all around the foundation of the chumbucket (except for the doors since they need to open), which seems to be keeping it in place so far... I would also recommend a number of additional small flat 2 by 2 lego pieces to help hold the hand together on top of the chumbucket as well ... to be honest the kids are much more likely to play with the accesories that come with it than the chumbucket building itself - plankton's tank, robotic crabby patty, robot spongebob, robot customer, and hypnosis chamber - however even these accessories fall apart easily... fortunately they are easily fixed (even my 3 year old can slap the gun back on plankton's tank when it falls off, which it does on a routine basis).
Please note that my criticisms apply to pretty much any lego set being built nowadays - all of them tend to fall apart pretty easily and I see no easy way around it. Note as well that (as long as you have the patience to keep slapping the parts back on that fall off until your kids learn how to do it themselves from watching you - that's been my experience anyways) despite this flaw kids tend to have lots of fun with the lego sets anyways - my munchkins were also delighted with the spongebob krusty crab lego set we bought as well as the doc ock train chase, spider man helicopter and batman lego sets we've purchased in the past... the fact that they have so many lego sets and play with them so often should tell you something about how much kids love these sets.
"Love it!"

The Chum Bucket was a huge hit at my nephew's birthday party. All of the cousins (ages 5 to 9) are big Spongebob fans and loved the tiny details of in this Lego set. I think all of the adults were as amused as the kids :) Very cute - very well done by Lego!
