I bought this 30 minute Flip for my 7 year old son last Christmas. He has loved it, but over time, I noticed it has lost most of its recordable space and now its down to about a minute and 7 seconds. The Flip website addressed this problem but its still not solved and I have not had any return e-mails from their site. Also, its very difficult to burn DVDs from it and I have not been able to transfer the flip video to any other software like "Microsoft movie maker" for editing.
I bought this 30 minute model for a cheap price. And my son has loved video taping and TV playback. If you plan to do much more, I would consider a regular camera with removable memory.

This is easy to use and easy to download the video. We used this on vacation and it was light, easy to whip out and video and super duper easy to download the video and share with our family back home!

this is a very cool recorder.If there is enough light it will record great. If the light is dim the quality is deminished. The sound is good. I record everything with it. Fits in your pocket very nice product

Since I downloaded the new version of software for my Flip Ultra, all of the video clips I download are in reverse order, making it impossible for me to conveniently make complete videos editing the clips together.
When I downloaded video clips before and then tried to make a movie, they were all in chronological order.
Now when I try to make a movie, the clips are in reverse order making it almost impossible to move around, especially when you have more than 20 clips, which I often do.
If you stop-and-start and make 10 short videos to stitch together to make one longer movie, it's almost impossible because the videos are downloaded in the wrong order. So to make a coherent movie, you have to move the first one to the last order, the second video to the second-to-the-last order, and so on. It used to download in the correct order, but since this last "upgrade", mixes up the videos so they are unusable.

I bought this camera and at first it seemed pretty good. They updated the program on the camera so that when you use it for the first time it asks to download an update. When you do the picture quality and sound quality of the videos you create are of very high quality. I can post them up on Youtube and it'll be High Definition. I use Windows and I believe most people who are having problems are using Apple. Now the program used to create and edit movies are actually downloaded from the website and not the small version stored on the camera which is really nice.
However I was really dissapointed that the details said it's a 60-minute camcorder and mine only lasts for about 25 minutes. Maybe it's a problem with mine I'm not sure but that's a real letdown.
A week ago I bought the 120 minute Flip Ultra. Three days later I ordered another one for my wife. I don't want to share mine. The picture quality is fantastic and the sound even better (especially considering the small size (like a pack of 100 mm cigarettes). Contrary to another review I read, the software works just fine in my MAC laptop. It'll do everything that it does on our PC. I play back my clips on our 56 inch TV and the quality rivals network programing. I found this 2nd generation 120 minute Flip Ultra on Amazon for $129.
I would highly recommend this camera, even over more expensive and sophisticated camcorders. DEAN
