I use the earphones mainly to watch DVDs at home when I don't want to disturb people and to listen to music on the go. Overall, the sound quality of these earphones, at least to my untrained ear, is excellent, in that I find myself hearing details in the sound on the DVDs I watch and in music that I literally can't hear with other earphones and headphones I own. (One unfortunate example is that I've discovered that my TV generates a quite distinct and annoying buzz in my amplifier that I simply do not hear with any of my other headphones.) The one downside is that the bass is not as powerful as one might want for certain types of music: it's there, and it's clear and distinct, but it's just not very powerful. Turning the bass level up on my amplifier improves it noticeably, and it's fine for the kinds of things I listen to most of the time (DVDs). But people who like to have their heads bashed with a lot of heavy bass might find them a bit wanting. On the other hand, having a heavy bass response is not necessarily a sign of a good pair of headphones, as it is easy to get at the expense of any kind of clarity and detail in the music. Given the choice, I'd go with the clarity and detail at the expense of the booming bass.
Another good thing is the sound isolation, which is quite good. These earphones fit into the ears like a set of earplugs, and when they are in place they give a similar level of sound isolation. Even when there is no sound coming through the earphones, isolation of ambient noise is good, and only loud low frequencies come through at all (so, for example, you would hear someone knocking on the door). And when there is sound coming through the earphones, all outside sound is masked completely.
The one problem with these earphones is that in order for them to work properly, they have to be worn properly. They are designed to be inserted all the way into the ear, up to the base of the bud; if they are not, the sound is tinny and the bass is very weak. Learning how to do this is a bit difficult (and the instructions that come with the earphones are terrible and don't explain how to do it at all). Basically, they need to be inserted the way a pair of earplugs are inserted, in that you first compress them with your thumb and forefinger and then insert them deeply into the ear. It takes a bit of practice to learn to do this properly, and further it takes practice to learn to recognize when you have inserted them in all the way. In particular, my experience was that it also made a difference in how I oriented the bud when I inserted it, and that unless I did it with the cord coming out of the bud facing upward (so that the cord can be wrapped around the back of the ear and trail off down the neck) the phone will not go all the way into my ear and the sound is weak. When you do have the proper orientation of the bud, it slides noticeably deeply into the ear and the sound quality improves tremendously. The bottom line is that this is a problem only until you figure out how to insert them properly; after that, they are easy to put in and wear. Overall, I am quite happy with them and would recommend them to anyone who wants a good sound-isolating earbud with clear, detailed sound quality.

Sure SE210 Earphones are the most comfortable I've tried and deliver excellent sound quality. The wiring leaves something to be desired. The wires connecting to the earphones are lightweight, which I like, but VERY short. Unless you have your iPod in your pocket or are using a clip on shuffle, you'll have to use the extension that's provided. The extension is way too long and is a much heavier cable. Not quite sure where to put all that extra wire, other than wrap it with a twist tie. This detracts from an otherwise excellent product.

I bought the Shure SE210 earphones to use while mowing on a big tractor. Sound isolation was a must. We have several acres to mow, so I wanted something to replace ordinary ear plugs. These earphones with my ipod make the job more enjoyable, while providing sound isolation. Fidelity is great. I hear detail I never noticed listening to bookshelf speakers. The only complaint I have is the short cord, which just barely reaches my ipod worn as highly as I can get it on my upper sleeve. An in-line volume control makes the length about right and I then use a clip (bought separately) clipped to my shirt to support the additional weight of the cord. I also wish it had screw-on replaceable tips, similar to an ear bud aviation style headset I use. That would make it easier to switch tips between users. I'm otherwise very satisfied.

The product works as advertised - it works as earplugs if you want it to. Only problem is, my ears are too small for most of the earpieces, so I had to use the clearish sticky ones, which as you can imagine, attracts fuzz and crap whenever I put them down.

I use these with my cowon s9, after playing around with the equalizer I managed to achieve a decent realistic sound, good level of details, but I have to admit that I was expecting a little more difference than the SE110, I would compare them to the Ultimate ears studio 3.0; while the UE delivers more detailed sound and vibrant highs, the sound is more industrial than realistic, SE210 gives a more realistic performance, but not as vibrant, so it all depends on what u like more.

These earphones are excellent value for money and well worth the outlay to hear your music to its full range.

They are robust and well-made. The quality of wiring, for example, is better than I expected for $100.

A pleasant extra is that if you want silence; wearing them (in a 'plane, say) does block out virtually all noise. The set of ear inserts I tried first were a bit uncomfortable near the end of a nine-hour trip. The next set (you get plenty of choice included) seem more comfortable - but I've not had to sit in Economy for nine hours yet with them on!
