"Works for ME! Great price. Fast shipping. Great home All-In -One" | 2009-02-08 |

| I found this All-In-One after a lot of researching on the net and was surprised to find it for $159 from Beach Camera with FREE shipping! At that price, I couldn't pass it up. The printer arrived in just 3 days and the box was undamaged except for a small 1-inch punch on one side of it. Checking, I found no damage to the printer inside. I had downloaded the software from HP during the three day ship time, so I knew I had the most current software available. I had planned to use the wireless feature, however, this printer was smaller than the one it replaced (an HP DeskJet 694C) so it sits nicely next to my PC desk. Following the Quick Set-Up guide, ink cartridges were installed and shipping tape and packing materials removed. Phone line and power cable plugged in. The software was already installed on my PC so all I had to do was plug the Ethernet cable into my wireless router. Windows XP found the printer with no problems. Power on the printer walked me through the initial set-up and printer initialization including loading paper and photo paper. There was an update feature, so, I ran it and 2 new updates installed over the net. I had already read about the problem with the duplex copies, so I knew what to expect. Sure enough, the printer reported that the duplex feature was not installed or available, but, printed duplex anyway. A neat feature was that the printer paused, and displayed a message on its LCD screen, to allow the ink to dry before printing on the back side of the page! Smart! I tried all features and they all worked without any problems except for the scanning. There will always be bugs in scanning when there are graphics or symbols on a document, so, it was expected. Scanning a plain text document was flawless. The only problem I encountered was getting the Auto-Answer to recognize the distinctive ring for my FAX line. I contribute this to operator error. I finally figured it out and now it works flawlessly. My only concern is that it is an ink machine and I am wondering how long the cartridges will last and if they will dry up with little or no usage. I also wonder about the life of the print heads and how well they will tolerate long periods of little or no use. Even the little circle-R registered trademark was clear on the print test page. Photos were clear and brilliant colors. Excellent quality for an ink machine. . I gotta give this All-In-One machine 5 stars all around! |

"Great Home Network All-In-One" | 2007-10-01 |

| My wife and I own notebooks, which we have connected to a wireless home network. We are not technology geeks. We bought a couple of low priced all in one printers, and for the life of us we could not get them to hook up with our network. Not so with the C7280. A world of difference, namely so much easier to hook up. Unlike other printers which ask you to search out the printer, the C7280 searches for your home network and guides you through hooking up using its built in color screen. Totally easy, even for the technology challenged. Once hooked up, well it prints wirelessly and does all the copying, scanning, etc. you want. Exceptional quality printing. And fast. Looks nice. Totally worth the relatively high price. |

| Works very well. Ink consumption seems good. A little trouble with Lotus printing, does not print all the lines. Downloaded updated drivers, but did not change anything. |

I'll cut to the chase. Don't buy this or any HP printer that uses the HP Solution Center SW.
The Solution Center software package that is bundled with this printer is awful. All four computers that I use this printer from are now unable to detect the printer from the solution center. I can print just fine... BUT, if I want to print photos, scan stuff, etc... I need the Solution Center SW to work. It doesn't.
So, what does one do? I read up on solutions to the Solution Center problem and, no kidding, it takes almost 2 hours to fix.
Really HP? Really?
Don't buy this if you plan to use it for a scanner/photo printer at all. Frankly, I've noticed posts about this error on other models of HP printers that use the Solution Center SW. Buyer beware!

| I bought the HP Photosmart All-In-One because my parents had one and I knew that it was a good quality machine. It's very affordable and has great features. I'm so glad that I no longer have to do any of my printing/copying/scanning/faxing at any other place than my home now that I have this machine. |

"Hardware failure. Software defects. Headaches!!!!" | 2009-09-10 |

| I got this all-in-one after an almost 45 minutes sales pitch at "Best Buy", about this was a top of the line machine and how much of a great value this was. Installing into my home network went well until all the updates started coming in online. After a few weeks problems with send/receiving faxes, next the wireless problems began. Hardware failure began a few month later, along with software failure, tech testing said that the unit was working properly, but it still would not send of recieve faxes or the software couldn't find it. After trying all, even uninstalling every everything and reinstalling the problems increased after a few days of working. Finally, faxing ability has totally fail, cable connection and printing is out, wireless printing out, although scan and photo abilities "at the machine" works for now, I am bracing for yet another disappointment with this HP Photosmart 7280. This unit getting 1-star is too much!!! |
