"Love these - perfect for shuffle (first generation)" | 2009-10-09 |

I wasn't sure about the short cord with extension. When I got them, I broke out my old shuffles and loaded them up with biking music. With the short cord (not using the extension), I just click the shuffle on the back of the neck on my shirt and there is no dangling cord. Awesome. I honestly haven't plugged in the extension for use with my Touch - don't need to.
The cord is so heavy duty. I feel like it will last forever.
The fit in my ears are great. The noise cancelling works so well. I can put on some mozart and study for Grad school while sitting on the couch with my wife while she is watching TV. I don't hear a word.
great price too.
I haven't run into a con yet. |

"Great Sound Isolating" | 2009-10-03 |

| I used to have some over the ear headphones and thought those would be the best to cancel out noise but after using the Shure SE110 I am convinced that they do a better job of reducing background noise than the over the ear headphones. They also sound better. This is just a superior product! |

"Great for the money." | 2009-10-02 |

I have had these for about a year now and I don't regret purchasing them at all. They were $100 when I bought them and they were a good deal then as well as now. In their price range they are definitely at the top. Very clear high end, mid range is decent, and bass is OK. (has good sustain but lack the punch) The key to these sounding good though is finding the correct buds for your ear, get a good seal and they will sound great, a bad one and they will be good but not spectacular.
Overall though I really enjoy listening to music with them. I can hear nuances using these ear buds that I can't even hear on my rather pricey Logitech 5.1 set up. Well worth the money but if you are willing to spend more there are better ear buds out there. Also, I tried some of the competition as well (V-Moda's, Ultimate Ears, etc.) and I personally liked these the best, but it is really your particular sound preference.
-PRO-
-good sound quality (if you have a good seal)
-the cabling is of solid construction, I love the break away on it
-great over all construction, very solid, not worried about them breaking at all
-lots of bud choices for all kinds of ears
-comes with a little bag for them too
-CON-
-bass and midrange could be more powerful
-wire from breakaway to ear bud is kind of thin, though strong
-odd design takes some getting used to
-wire is a bit on the tangly side, it likes to keep whatever twists you put in it, so coil it properly when no in use |

"Better than standard earbuds" | 2009-09-28 |

These are better than the earbuds that come with many personal mp3 players. The expanding foam tips form a good seal, but to be clear: these are NOT noise-canceling. I can still hear most things around me. However, because they form a tight fit, I can listen to my iPod at much lower volume than otherwise. For example, in NYC these do not completely block out extreme noise like diesel engines, construction equipment, or arriving subway trains, but on the sidewalk and INSIDE the subway car, I can hear the music ok without slowly deafening myself or inadvertently sharing my music tastes with those around me. And of course, in a relatively quiet office, these do a great job of cutting down on distractions.
On a final note, the sound quality is not significantly better than other earbuds, in my opinion. Mostly it sounds better because, to a greater extent, you get to hear the music more than ambient noise. This is ok though, since if I'd wanted truly great sound quality, I would have gone for over-ear rather than in-ear headphones anyway. |

| I've had these earbuds for about 1.5 years and I've been really happy with them. The sound is great and the sm/med/lg buds allowed me to get a fit that was comfortable for long periods of time. The only complaint I have is that they seem to wear pretty quickly on the portion of the cord that goes over your ear. I've had two pairs so far and they've both done the same thing. Other than that, these earbuds are AMAZING. |

"Best earphone for $50" | 2009-09-23 |

Came across this model while searching for a better earphones. I was a little worried about all the bad reviews here, mostly about "weak bass". However at $50 I couldn't resist, and most other "professional" reviews says otherwise so I decided to give it a shot. After all, Shure does have a good reputation.
Man, am I glad I tried. This earphone brings out sounds that I have not heard before. Sound isolation is excellent, too. As a matter of fact, there was too much bass for my liking so I had to turn EQ off. Plenty of bass, mids and highs sound wonderful to me.
Now this experience makes me really wonder how much better those "high-end" earphones are. Good thing they are mostly out of reach. ;-) |
