I have had this printer for several months. I have two more Epson Printers and I want to put this one in the garbage. If one document a day was all I printed it would be ok. I have never saw a printer use so much ink!!!! The ink is so expensive. It has ruined documents with black ink blogs. That can be costly. I am very disapointed with Epson. I called to replace my ink for the 7600 today and the dealer said it had gone up from 82.00 per cartridge to 129.00 per cartridge. Unbelieveable.

Yes, the print quality is good, most ink jets are these days. So let me break this down for you.
The printer ink is expensive! If you run out of any one colour, your expensive device is rendered useless. You cannot print grey scale and you cannot use the scanner. That's right, the scanner! Your device is put into a "busy" mode until you replace the offending ink cartridge. Oh and the printer runs out of ink very quickly, like at a very annoying pace if you do moderate printing of full colour images.
I am considering a class action because Epson is basically holding my machine hostage until I pay them money for ink. Now you may not run into this issue, but "what if" you really need to scan or copy something and don't have the cash for the ink. This is where I am at the moment...

Epson FORCES you to buy ink cartridges even if you only want to print in black. It is not possible to bypass or disable this problem through the software. They have lost a customer for life. This is unacceptable if your'e in the middle of a printing project...you must stop and go buy ink.

Absolutely garbage, do not buy under any circumstances.
Refused to feed paper under any circumstances, no matter how many types of paper and ways of feeding it. Fax was troublesome also.
Can't print, can't fax... whats the point of having this thing?
My HP from 8 years old works perfectly, this piece of junk doesn't work at all.

I have had other all-in-one machines before, and I considered this one OK until I found out it's flaw: if one ink cartridge needs replacement, it will not do anything else. So, if you do buy this machine, make sure you have extra cartridges on hand. I found this out the hard way, thinking that since I was just printing in black, I didn't have to worry about changing the cyan cartridge. But then the printer kept giving me an error message, and I was stuck until replacing the empty cartridge. I looked it up in the manual, and it does confirm that the printer will not work if even one cartridge is out. My old HP (all in one) and my Lexmark did NOT operate this way! Another bummer is that ink goes out pretty fast on this machine.
On the other hand, if scanning is important to you, the scanner works well on this and is faster than some other printers.
I do not know why I gave this two stars but I did buy this second cx9400 to use with my Mac because refillable cartridges are supposed to work for Epson printers. hah! First machine bought new crapped out with a stripped gear that I could not even find making machine refuse to push paper through it. I hold my breath when I hit the print bar! Second one (purchased and reviewed here) has issues with color printing missing bars through color print. Good thing I need it to print postage only. Very few options when reducing print size, (not like an HP) This is loud and sounds like junk when operating.
