I bought this for a Sony 41" LCD. It arrived faster than expected (in Alaska!) and was relatively easy to install.
It does take two people to hang the bracket on the wall, and a stud finder (hope yours works better than ours) but the instructions are easy to follow. It took two of us about 90 minutes to do, and the TV is easy to adjust (other reviews said differently) though the new Sony is pretty light (for a 41"). |

Very well made and sturdy. I do wish there was a way to have less hardware come with it for every possible situation. Kind of a waste of metal and manufacturing. There were a LOT of screws and bolts to cover every possible mounting type and situation.
But it is a good product. Installation fairly easy, works well and smoothly.

I went around shopping at the local tv/electronics stores (typical ones, fry's electronics, magnolia, best buy, circuit city, etc)and played with all the mounts of this type (wallmounts that would move in/out, swing left/right, tilt, etc) that I could get my hands on. There was only one wall mount that was in the same league (most of the other ones weren't very rigid, and with my 46" lcd hanging 5' above the floor, I wanted something very secure). The other one that was as rigid was the omni (I believe) but it swung in at over 2x the price of this one, so it was a no brainer. This came with EVERYTHING you'd imagine needing (and extra's/more) except for securing to a cement wall.
The only 4 cons I can think of are:
-It's heavy (all these big wall mounts are, this particular one was 45-50lbs, not a big problem unless you had to hold it 1-2' above your head when mounting it, as I did. Make sure you have a spare set of hands for the first bolt)
-bit of friction in the mount. For a static mount this is fine, but if you are going to be moving it a lot, it might be a sore point. I haven't played with the adjustments, I believe one could loosen some of the bolts a hair to turn down the friction and get over this problem, I know this is true for the tilt. I keep mine static, so this hasn't become an issue for me to look into.
-this con is more a con to walls than the mount. It's difficult to put the mount EXACTLY where you want because of stud limitation. I had about 6" of play (3" each direction, as I recall) and my studs are 18" apart. That means you have about a foot of area that you can't hang the mount. This was a problem for me, I was able to work around it. Seems like no matter what you want to hang on a wall, there is never a stud close enough ;).
-Doesn't come with hardware for cement walls (but then again, most of us have drywall over studs and if you have cement walls you probably have the hardware from that "other project" you did last year).
That's being really nit-picky. Most of these issues will be shared with other wall mounts of this size/strength/flexibility. |

| Great choice for a flat screen TV mount. Got it at another retailer and paid the price, roughly $70 more. The mount was very easy to install. Grab a friend (the mount is heavy, and your TV is presumably as well!), find the studs, put the mount on the wall, attach rods to TV, hang the TV. I have had other mounts and this one is superior. It is a bit hard to pull away from the wall, and a little hard to push into the wall, but it swivels side to side and up and down quite easily. The difficulty is most likely due to the sturdiness of the mount. It is VERY sturdy and gives the impression that it will hold quite a bit more (our particular TV is over 100 lbs). |

| The materials provided in this kit definitely made sure that almost any TV could be mounted. We bought two to mount our two Sony Bravia KDL-40XBR2 TVs. Installation was fairly simple (we had problems with our stud-finder), but it definitely takes two or even three people to do this. Positioning the mount on the wall so the T.V. would be where we wanted it took some measurement, but it was fairly easy to calculate. The mounts hold our TVs very well, but it does take a good bit of force to tilt or telescope the mount. But, once you get it adjusted, the stability is great. Overall, we recommend this mount. |

| This mount is very well made from heavy gauge steel that is TIG-welded to heavy tubing. All the metal parts are powder-coated with a dark brown finish. Mounting was as simple as locating the wall studs, drawing parallel level lines to match the spacing of the mount hangers and then drilling pilot holes into the studs to accept the hanger lag bolts. This unit weighs about 40 pounds, so you're going to want to have a helper when you're ready to attach the mount to the wall and hand the TV/Monitor on it. Once the mount is attached to the wall using the included lag bolts and washers, the vertical hooks are attached to the back of the TV or Monitor, again using the included bolts and washers. The TV or Monitor is then lifted and hooked into place on the mount and four small screws are tightened to lock the assemblies together. Done. Our particular TV is a 125 pound 50" plasma that is right at the load limit of this mount. I was a little anxious to see how it would handle the load. In our case, the TV swung easily side to side to change the viewing angle. However, it was quite difficult to pull the panel away from the wall or push it closer. Since the mount worked quite well without the TV in place, I think it's fair to conclude that this is due to the TV's 125 pound weight cantilevered out almost 15" from the wall. It works, but the kids aren't going to be pushing or pulling it from the wall. It's even a little bit difficult for one adult... but with two people, you're in business. With a smaller & lighter TV/Monitor, the mount would likely be much easier to operate. All things considered, this is an excellent buy. |
