I also own an 2009 ipod classic 160gb & creative zen v 8gb. Based on the player itself, it holds its own. The Zune battery life is not hitting specs, but that may be my fault in using a cheap taiwan after market charger. Sound Quality is pretty good & thank God as there is no EQ on this unit. The Zune uses a generous portion of its screen size on the cover art (more than ipod & creative screen is tiny) & is a strong point.
Even if the Zune unit was the best on the market I still would not buy another one due solely to the crappy, clunky & MANDATORY Zune media player software that one has to use. It is way worse than itunes & way worse than Microsoft's own Windows Media Player. I use the WMP with my creative zen & like it; stable & easy to use. Way in the world would Microsoft make its own Player uncompatible with the WMP?!?!?!? Makes no sense. Instead they force you onto the Zune software & that thing is buggy, unstable & just plain annoying....very difficult to sync, move stuff around, or do anything really.
I hate Zune due to their media player. Hey, Microsoft: stop trying to control everyone's downloads, purchases & listening enjoyment by forcing people on to your crappy software.

I was able to set up my Zune and download music to it as soon as it was charged with no problem.Zune 4 GB Digital Media Player (Pink)

nice player I wanted a mp3 player that has a fm radio the radio works very well but battery life is very short only 8 or 9 hours on a charge.zune pass is very good you can get just about any song your looking for it almost makes the short battery life ok..

I bought this Zune for my wife, because she liked the one I had and she wanted one for her birthday. It's working just as it should, and had no problems with the recent Zune software update. It seems to take a little bit longer to charge than mine does, however. Overall, it was a good buy with the price drop.

I bought myself a 30 gb Zune about 2 years ago and it has been one of the best devices I have ever purchased. So for my moms birthday I purchased her this 4gb pink Zune and she LOVES it...no matter what she is doing she has got at least 1 head phone in and jamming out to her tunes. This Zune is a great tiny size, has a great screen and easy enough for my mom to use with out any problems...I would recommend any Zune to anyone looking for a great mp3 player...They are better then Ipods and way under raided.

i love my zune! i got for my birthday and it is awesome heres what i like about it 1. You dont have to pay for songs if you have a subscription only some 2. it's easy to find what you want edited versions of albums are really easy to find unlike on itunes cuz on itunes i have to power search 3. zune has games! the bads 1.some albums are not available 2. some artists are unavailable like AC/DC and The Beatles I really like the zune the earphones rock but my cat chewed up the earphones and there $[...] GET ONE
