| The Buzzsaw is a lot easier to use for the little ones, compared to the NERF reactor, which requires a lot of strength to use. I got this for my 3yr old son. He can actually load the gun and shoot the balls out himself. The only drawback is, this toy is very loud. No surprise attack with this one. And it only holds up to 3 balls. The faster you rev up the toy the further the balls will go. I would recommend this toy if you plan on buying your little one his first NERF gun. Very durable, inexpensive. Worth the money. |

| This toy broke about and hour after I got it. The teefh broke on the handle. It would probably work longer if you were careful, but in a nerf war it's hard to take your time. |

| The toy is very loud and since I bought it for my dog, I noticed that you can't re-shoot the balls after they get wet (my dogs slobber), they get stuck so you have to dry them off afterwards. Other than those two things, what nerf toy is a great toy. |

I had a big nerf war a couple months back. and by big i mean several families were involved (not the mafia kind but for all they knew it could have been we had so many guns and rounds...) and one of them seemed to really like those reactor balls, cause almost every gun they owned shot them. they seemed to have nothing but reactors, buzzsaws, and those little one shot reactor things (which are UNGODLY awesome! it's like a liberator, only more awesome...if you don't know what a liberator is look it up on wikipedia. it's a gun) and i must say, compared to most of nerf's other stuff, this one is pretty fail. and i don't mean that to sound geeky, i mean really, if you were to give this thing a test, it would fail it. the ammo capacity is just pathetic for the amount of effort you need to fire, you can just lock and load to fire, and the range isn't even that good. it only holds THREE balls (despite how many appear to come with it) and it takes freakin forever to get it up to any sort of decent firing range. it takes a TON of practice to get used to doing the charging thing, cause if you do it wrong you'll end up grinding the wheel in that sort of burned out clutch way... suffice to say, i'm rather pissed that this thing is rated higher than the vulcan, which is a far superior weapon. in fact, i'm rather pissed this thing is rated so high at all. it's by far one of the most gimick-y and least effective NERF guns out (i capitalize nerf because not all dart guns are nerf, airhogs and those other ones have some pretty fail guns too...but that's another arguement altogether) overall, this gun is average. buy it if you're into gimicks, not if you wanna go tearing up your house playing with your best friends

"BuzzJammer meaning balls jammed all the time" | 2008-03-15 |

Decent idea but poor execution. Overly loud plastic wheel is way to weak to send balls flying as expected. Not up to the standards of NERF. Pulling a really large level over and over is so loud it requires it to be an outside only toy. Even worse is the distance if you are able to get it to shoot. Balls jam up overly easy and then you have to attempt disassembly to get it to work again.
Too Loud non working toy. Better to look at than play with. Larger than picture shows as well. Too big for little kids. |

I just bought this toy. I have 6 yr old and 8 yr old boys. This toy is loud, but not as loud as some of the reviews would leave you to believe. Still, better as an outside toy. The toy fires by putting (no more than) three balls in the chute and cranking up the drive wheel. When you get the wheel up to a decent RPM you can pull the trigger and the ball shoots out (in a semi-automatic way you can rapid fire up all three balls). The problem is that the wheel looses RPM very quickly and by the time you get to the second (and third) ball it barely goes 10 feet. If the RPM drops too low the ball will become jammed in the barrel, causing a problem that only an adult will be able to fix with the help of something long enough to poke down the barrel to pop the ball out.
Overall "fun value" is low due to the noise and the quick loss of RPM. My boys got bored with it quickly. Regular neff dart guns are much much better. |
