There's memory and then there's memory! The Sandisk Extreme series have always been at the performance edge. After going through Extreme II, III and IV, it appears that Sandisk has decided to move on to the "Ultra" moniker to designate the latest and greatest. And so the "old" Extreme III cards are showing up in the bargain bins. These "old" extreme III cards work very well in my digital cameras!

Media like this (memory) tends to be a roll of the dice as to whether or not you get a good card off the shelf. SanDisk continues to earn its place as a mainstay in this market with their reliable cards.

In my book their's SanDisk and then everyone else, and again Amazon( what an organization /business model) offers a price below retail stores so price to performance ratio can't be better.
Sure you can find cheaper make cards but...
When the best is good enough this is what you want in your camera,after all the pictures you take, you take for a reason and are important to you, you do not want to take the chance of loosing them do you? I have used this with my DSLR shooting raw files, then transfering images to 4.7 gb DVD for storage.
In a year of steady use in the dead of winter in NJ(and humidity of jersey I might add) and in the deserts of Utah, so far over 7000 images taken on this one 4gb card and no,none,zero,nada a problems with it!!!

Using it in my camera, has enough space so I don't need to copy my pictures over to the computer as often as before, seems to work fine, no issues so far.

A good product. But extensive price variation is bad for buyer psyschology. Manufacturers make direct offers undercutting the prices which make existing buyers very sad - folks who bought the product at higher prices. It only means Manufacturers profits are extremely high and the ordinary public are being "milked".
