We love our xbox but buy the warrenty. Ours recieved the ring of death but I sent it into MS and recieved a new one in one week.

I bought this game through Amazon Warehouse Deals at a discounted price because there was a crack in the hard drive. It was purely cosmetic and the game worked fine. My husband could not be more happy with it!!!

I dont have much to say since you should already know the pros and cons of this console. IMO, the only con is reliability. I did have it propertly ventilated and have used it for hrs at a time. It just died on me yesterday and it could be because of an update. Because it did go through with the update. Could just have been coincidental timing though.
I'm still within the 3 yr warranty and I'll have to see how fast they turn it around and how reliable it is after that ( I dont have faith it will be, based on other people's issues). Thank God I got a PS3 slim. Partly because I felt the 360 would die on me anytime.

I have always been a PS fan. I decided to go with the 360 this time because it was a bit cheaper. I have to say I regret it. The online experience you have to pay for(PS3 free), the system is loud as hell when a game is in(PS3 is whisper quiet), PS3 has Blue Ray, and I noticed that PS3 games are the similar but have little differences that improve the game play. Extra things to do etc. It isn't a bad system but I still wish I would have stuck with PS. When the PS4's come out I will be all over that.

Fun gaming system. My husband and I have played it at least 4-5 days a week, for multiple hours at a time over the last 2 years since we've owned it. We did get the "red ring of death" after owning it for over a year. It was covered under the manufacturer's warranty, and Microsoft replaced our Xbox with a "new" unit. The faceplate was missing when they returned it, but after a few minutes on the phone with a CSR, we had it replaced as well. Now, after 2 years of strenuous use, the disc drive is messing up, and it is out of warranty. It intermittently will not read a disc (even brand new, perfectly cleaned discs), or will freeze games. My husband sees it as an "opportunity" to by a NEW Xbox, but I see it as another disposable piece of technology that isn't built to last more than a couple years.
