Not very happy with the product. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't! The last one I had , lasted about a year and a half. It would show the temp as 170 degrees before I even put it in the meat.

Got this to replace the temperature probe on the grill. I've used is about half a dozen times and it works great. Takes a few times to figure out what the settings, i.e. rare, med rare, actually equate to. More of what your preference is. Like the fact that I can take the indicator into the house to monitor the temp.

I picked up several of these when I found them for $14.99 at Lowe's and a few more for gifts for family and friends a few days later, at $9.99. I'm ashamed to have given them as gifts. The units worked okay the first time I used them in my smokers. The features are great. It's cool to be able to program the desired temperature and hear "It's almost done." while you're inside avoiding the 115 degree Az summer. I went to use them again a few days later and..... nothing. It turns out that they drain the battery quickly and there's no off switch. Lesson learned, take the batteries out next time. The base unit and receiver lose contact all the time and have to both be reset. The probes on 2 of the 3 I use stopped functioning after a few uses. They were worth what I paid for the $9.99 ones. I wouldn't buy another Oregon Scientific product, regardless of price.

This is exceptional unit for both inside and outside ovens. I maimly use in my 'smoker' and my 'barbeque grill'. Works perfect and allows you to leave oven without worry of over-cooking. Highly recomend. Have fun.

I've used many of these wireless thermometers in my frequent barbecuing. This one is the best. The usual point of failure is the wire running from the probe to the transmitter, but Oregon Scientific sells replacements, and most manufacturers don't. The repetition of the "spoken" reminders was annoying, until I discovered that they would stop if you press the center button. Be prepared to change the temperature settings for various meats, which is easy to do. (They are too high for my taste). So far, results from use have been outstanding.

We absolutly love this. It is by far the best made grill thermometer. Very sturdy and accurate. Has not failed us once. We have tried others that all have broke just after a few uses. We are very pleased with this.
