After I downloaded the free software that goes with it and had my wife figure out how it all worked, it was smooth sailing to rip music from my CD's to the computer then to the Zune player. I just can't get over how much music that little box can hold. I've put a ton of CD's in there already and have barely used 2 GB of the 8 total GB of the player. Navigating the albums and songs once they are loaded to the Zune is very easy. The sound quality is great. I use it mostly when I go on my walks. It's just perfect for what I need it for. Plus, the added feature of an FM radio is really nice as well. The reception is great.

An all around great MP3 player. This is about the best thing I could own. I've had it for two years now and it has been a dream. You might as well kick Ipod out of your house and don't look back. I have used an Ipod before, but it has not come close to the feel and quality of a Zune. Don't get the 5th gen Ipod nano. It is just trying to copy the zune. All it has different is a camera. WTF. Make the right choice... ZUNE.

I received one for my birthday last year and have since purchased one for my fiance. THis is a great product! It is very easy to use and the software is user friendly. We can even things (songs, pics, videos, etc) to each other when both Zunes are on! It is a really neat device and I would recommend this to anyone.

I own an 80gb Zune and while visiting my family recently, my now 9 year old niece said she wanted to listen to music on it. So, I let her listen for a while and she didn't want to give it back!! She said that one of her uncles had an iPod, but she liked my Zune better. I asked her why and she said she liked the way the screen looked. Go figure. lol
So, I told her she had to give me daggone Zune back, but that I would get her one for her birthday. I had gotten my sister, whose in college, the 8gb zune for her birthday earlier in the year and it's much smaller than my 80gb zune. So, I asked her if she had it in her handbag and she said yes. I told her to let my niece see it so she could let me know whether she wanted the big one or the small one. As I figured, she said she wanted the small one. When her birthday rolled around, I started researching prices and Amazon had the best price, so I bought it from here and I'm so glad I did. She loves it and I got it for a great price. What could be better?!
I recommend that anyone get a Zune if you are trying to decide between an iPod and a Zune. It's easier to use and with the Zune Pass, it's a no brainer. Unlimited downloads that stay on your device for as long as you pay the subscription fee every month, and 10 songs to keep? Come on. It's a no brainer. I got the device that lets me listen to it in my car for $10 at [...] back in May and I'm in heaven. I would never buy an iPod, especially considering they don't have anything similar to the Zune Pass. I don't have to worry about whether the FBI is going to knock down my door because I'm stealing music.
"Player Unit itself is Ok, But the mandatory Zune Media Player Software Blows"

I also own an 2009 ipod classic 160gb & creative zen v 8gb. Based on the player itself, it holds its own. The Zune battery life is not hitting specs, but that may be my fault in using a cheap taiwan after market charger. Sound Quality is pretty good & thank God as there is no EQ on this unit. The Zune uses a generous portion of its screen size on the cover art (more than ipod & creative screen is tiny) & is a strong point.
Even if the Zune unit was the best on the market I still would not buy another one due solely to the crappy, clunky & MANDATORY Zune media player software that one has to use. It is way worse than itunes & way worse than Microsoft's own Windows Media Player. I use the WMP with my creative zen & like it; stable & easy to use. Way in the world would Microsoft make its own Player uncompatible with the WMP?!?!?!? Makes no sense. Instead they force you onto the Zune software & that thing is buggy, unstable & just plain annoying....very difficult to sync, move stuff around, or do anything really.
I hate Zune due to their media player. Hey, Microsoft: stop trying to control everyone's downloads, purchases & listening enjoyment by forcing people on to your crappy software.
