I love the heck out of guitar hero! This would be an excellent game if it would play properly. Most songs start out good, but just as you feel yourself start to rock out to it, suddenly it's out of sync and your left playing quiet notes while listening to post plays of your button mashing. I did try a series of fixes and none seem to help at all. The game does state it has issues with nvidia GPU's. I'm sure the console versions would've been a better choice.

If you've read any reviews for the pc version of GH then you've heard it skips and needs lots of CPU/RAM. Both are true. Even with 8 gigs of 800mhz corsair ram and a great cpu I noticed some significant skipping, but I don't blame the game, I blame the ambient tempperature. It skipped during the hottest days of the year and hasn't skipped since I took steps to keep my pc cool. If you're into rocking and not a pansy knit-pick like a lot of nerd reviewers you'll love this game. However, if you ding a game because of it's character's wardrobe or other inconsequantial 'stuff' like that I can see you having the same lame issues that reviewers have.

the only problem is that it's adictive, beware!
Guitar is very well built, I've played for 2 years now with the same guitar, no problem what so ever.

Let me just say the game itself is Great. Lots of different bands, songs you have actually heard before, hahah. Lots of guitar battles, very fun.
However, my complaint is with the listing on this item. It states Guitar hero bundle with Guitar but in fine print in the listing, seller says btw no guitar. Why would bundle with guitar even be in the link then??????
Anyway, Great product.

I've read other reviews for this game that claim you need a brand new computer with an expensive video card in order to play.

That's all nonsense.

My laptop has a 1.86 gHz processor, 2GB of RAM, and an ATI Radeon X1400 video card. For the most part, the game runs fine. However, in the game, there are some stages where the crowd animation causes some lag during gameplay. Otherwise it's fine.

Also, there is an option in the Options menu to turn "Crowd" on or off, meaning you can choose whether to have a crowd at all. You can also put the resolution on "High" or "Low". I put it on Low and didn't see any differences, other than a quicker response time when I press a button on the guitar and when it would light up on the screen.

The game is great, and if the lag is bothering you, go to "Options" from the main menu and go to "Graphics Options" and change what I mentioned above.

Anyway, I gave it four stars because on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, you can purchase and download "song packs" - additional songs to play. You can't do that on the PC. I e-mailed Aspyr and they said they were looking into "alternate delivery methods," so whatever that means.

When I ordered Guitar Hero III for my PC, I was concerned that it would not run decently. I had read many reviews claiming the game would not run well even on high-end machines. I am running Windows Vista (32-bit) with 2G RAM, AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ 2.3 GHz, and a Radeon HD 2400 PRO with 256MB memory. This is a pretty good setup, but not at all top-of-the-line. I loaded Guitar Hero III with no difficulty (it took some time to install, though, during which I put the stickers onto my guitar). Gameplay is flawless. I am very happy with my purchase and glad that I can enjoy Guitar Hero without purchasing a new console. Just make sure your computer meets system requirements before you purchase the game. Check out the requirements as listed on the Aspyr website: http://www.aspyr.com/product/game_specs/85.

I have no complaints about the game. Enjoy!
