It's a good product it does what it promise, the downside is that you have to write very clear at the bottom of the page (it's the place where sometimes the receiver can't read quite well), so try a smaller notebook and you'll be fine. Its a nice gadget and very helpful when you are in a meeting or taking some notes at school or also when you want to send an old fashion or more personal mail with your own handwriting to someone using Internet. Another helpful hint; if you find that over the years the receiver can't maintain the charge you just carefully unscrew the four screws at the bottom of receiver and replace the battery be shure to get a new rechargeable 1.2V 800 to 920mAh battery and change it (you'll find that the old battery will be glued to the device but with a pair of pliers you can easily take it out just be gently and careful), then you'll have a wireless pen for one or two years more and so and so.

The unit is easy to use and it takes a little time to figure out the software but not hard to do that. I have messy handwriting and I print in capital letters. When I convert my written text and graphs into a word document I have to spend some time editing the mistakes from the conversion. It does save some time doing this but not a lot of time vs. typing my notes into a word document without using this tool. I recommend using line paper to write your notes and use the lines to help guide the size of the graphics for consistency. The equipment and software is very basic but I did not pay a lot for this product. I will update this review after I spend more time with this product.

The zPen has effectively saved me hours of transfering notes from my notepad to my computer. Im a college student with not so understanding teachers that load us with work! The Zpen replaces my laptop computer. My teachers complain about all the laptops and not being able to interact with students because it seems like we are hiding behind the screen... in my case i am! Also, people are always getting in trouble for being on websites and doing things other than what we are suppose to be.
The zPen captures my notes, formulas and diagrams with nooooo problem.
The zPen is easy to use. Pull out your paper and your zPen receiver, Clip it to your pad and turn it on, write with your Pen! When your done insert it into your USB port It will work all day and store loads of pages.
Im pretty much the cool kid in class with this little Gadget!
Highly recommend. Just learn how to use it and its awesome from then on.

My zpen actually does everything it says it's going to do and I havn't had any problems refilling the ink or anything like that. This is a great product for a student like me. I never have to used a scanner or extra copies again which is great when you never have time to do all that extra work. I also received this item way faster than I expected.

I don't understand why ppl are spending $90 on this pen. Surely it does what it is supposed to do. But why don't you get yourself a $20(or even free after rebate) scanner which does a much better job in saving your notes electronically? Dane-Elec's software that translates your handwriting into text is a joke. If you have some extra money then this pen is a nice little toy to have. If not, i think a lower-end scanner is a much better choice.

This product works perfectly as advertised. I bought it for taking notes in my graduate math courses which are about to start, so so far I have only tested it a few times, but it seems to work great. I like how the software is on the device itself so you don't have to worry about which computer to use.br /br /I do have one question though. I have not been able to figure out how to change the ink cartridge. The directions are useless-- they literally have a drawing of the end of the pen with fingers next to it. I'm afraid to force it becuase I don't want to break the pen or ruin the pressure sensitivity. If anyone has successfully changed the ink cartridge I would really appreciate it if you could send me some details at kindersurprises@Gmail.com. Thanks!
