I used a Harmony universal remote control for several years. However, the "select" button did not work. As a result, I purchased the Harmony One. I had the same problems with this model as I did the old one. Although the software recognized the brand and model of the various devices, it did not automatically add all the necessary features. This had to be done manually - very time consuming as you have to manually link remotes. In addition, there was no intuitive selection of a category for my Yamaha sound bar. I had to experiment to find which categoy best suited this item.
In my opinion, the manufactuer should use focus groups, not engineers, to make the device more user friendly.
This is my second Logitech universal remote. The first one, the Harmony 880, has many nice features and was a good place to start; however, I found that I needed better coverage and signal strength from the transmitter signal. The Harmony One provides this expanded coverage so that when I point in the approximate direction, the components receive the signal.
Additional strong positive features of the Harmony OneLogitech Harmony One Advanced Universal Remote are: the layout of the keys, the illumination of the keys and the screen so that they can be easily viewed in the dark, and finally the touch screen. The only key layout item that has taken getting used to is the placement of the Page Up and Page Down keys which I sometime hit instead of the Up and Down keys surrounding the OK key. I have finally learned to hit the right keys at the right time.

The Harmony One is an extremely user-friendly universal remote. I purchased it predominantly for my wife and children to use with our home theater system. They love it and have found the touch screen (to select an activity) to be very convenient and very cool! The Logitech software was extremely easy to use and allowed me to quickly input the make and model of each system component. Setting the parameters for each activity (i.e. watch tv, listen to cds, etc.) was likewise very streamlined. I definitely recommend this remote!
By the way, we've got an Onkyo receiver, Oppo upconverting DVD/CD player, and a Toshiba REGZA LCD television.

Best part is only needing one remote to operate all devices. Once you work the bugs out, works great.

This remote was easy to configure.
Had a few issues but easy to sort out.
It never did work correctly for my combo VHS/DVD player -- played DVD's ok but not VHS systems. I dont really need that anyway.. but it would have been nice to get that to work.
