I thought I was getting the serrated edge knife. I did not, but since I have a serrated pocket knife, I thought no biggie and kept it. THAT is my ONLY complaint.
This is my second Letherman and my 10th multi tool. I lean towards Gerber's, and when I was younger Swiss Army knives. This has since gone camping and is a permanent when I go anywhere. This is a GREAT tool for anyone wanting a little more than a pocket knife but not wanting something big and bulky. It fits the hand, slots well, opens easy, super light weight, non obtrusive, and has a part of the body made of carbon fiber (and that just speaks to the hardcore sports car fan in me).
the knife on the outside is very slick and I use it often. It was a little stiff upon opening the first time, but I just opened/closed about 20 times and its smooth and secure now. I even just tried the bottle opener the other day for fun and it's just great. This does it all, and in a go anywhere size. I would need more to rebuild my bike motor, but this will always be in my pocket on the road.

This is a very cool, very well designet multi-tool. But it is very small. Smaller, I think, than the regular Leatherman I once had. And make sure to get the CX. The stainless blade/knife is not so good!

Cool tool that replaces a good pocket knife as well as your basic Leatherman. The knife is sharp and functional without being too large. The rest is excellent Leatherman quality. The screw driver set up is innovative and compact. Pocket clip is strong and holds well. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because of the weight. I would like to see more of the body skeletonized to reduce weight.

There seems to be some confusion on the blade styles. The "CX" model appears to be the 154CM straight blade version, an the non-CX (no model suffix, just "Skeletool") is documented as the 420HC Combo Knife, which means is has the serrated knife blade. My "Skeletool CX" has a straight 154CM blade.

Based on sheer daily usefulness, this is by far the best multi-tool I have ever owned. That's saying a lot too, because I average a new one every year or so over the last 15 years. The difference in this tool is the radical departure from Leatherman's traditional form factor. The sleek minimalist design makes this tool a breeze to slip into your pocket and go. The size and bulk of most other multi-tools keep me from carrying them on an everyday basis, but the skeletool CX goes with me everywhere. This tool has the most useful blade of any other multi-tool I've used, and the easy one-hand operation makes it as quick and easy to access as most stand-alone pocket knives. My only gripe here (and the reason for only four stars) is the treatment of the second screwdriver bit. It isn't held in place very securely, and falls out easily if the tool is dropped or stuck. How this got overlooked in product testing I don't know, but it can be aggravating. The bottle opener is functional, and the carabiner clip works well, rounding out a tool that packs plenty of useful features into a surprisingly slim and lightweight package. The lack of heft is achieved through a combination of materials and skeletonized construction (hence the name) and assists greatly in making the tool very unobtrusive when clipped into your pocket.
