| I bought this to replace a Timex alarm clock that I would have otherwise been happy with except for two things: The time was always creeping up (fast) and it couldn't play from my ipod. I bought the iH9 after some research on Amazon and based on the good reviews this unit received. I've read through several of the reviews here and can agree with some issues but not others. The tuner hasn't been a problem at all. I pick up all stations that I expect to pick up. As I see it the main problems with the iH9 are insufficiently low volume (setting on "1" is not low enough for sleep function), the volume/change wheels are so slick its difficult to turn them, and having a single button for dimmer/snooze. I get around the first issue when using the ipod by using only the line-in. That way I can set the volume lower with the ipod. Yea, i guess it sort of defeats the purpose of having a dock, but I'm happy enough being able to use the ipod with line-in. When docked you don't have full control of it anyway with the remote (yes, it comes with a remote.. if you didn't get one in the box, like I didn't, then call iHome or the store you bought it from and they should send one free of charge). The remote gives you limited control over the ipod function. But the remote is actually great for everything else... volume, snooze, dimmer, time/alarm setting, etc. Another issue is the volume/change wheels. They are very slick and turning them is not so easy. I kept looking for something in the box to resolve this issue like rubber stickers or something.. something to give it texture/grip. Nothing is included. I ended up just sticking some little rubber pads on them. Turning is not an issue now. The other minor issue is the dimmer/snooze. You can accidentally change the dimmer setting when hitting the snooze button. Then you will have to re-adjust the dimmer setting. This is a minor annoyance made less likely to happen when you use the remote. |

| I treid multiple units inlcuding big brand name ones and this device was among the best in the price range.I would definetly recommend it to anybody looking for a radio/docking station for thier ipod. |

Lots of others have sung the praises of this clock radio. It has great sound quality, the remote control is nice, and having two separate alarms is a bonus. However, I do have two quibbles with this product. If neither of them matter to you, consider my rating a 5 star.
1) The clock display is back-lit, with dark symbols, instead of a dark background with light symbols. Basically, it puts out a lot of light. There are 8 different dimmer settings, but even the dimmest one illuminates my entire bedroom. I have trouble sleeping with a lot of light, so I ended up turning off the display entirely. It still wakes me up in the morning, but besides that moment, I can't tell what time it is. If you like to sleep with a nightlight, this is the clock radio for you!
2) You can set the alarm to wake you up with a custom iPod playlist, as advertised. However, it randomizes the order, and there's no way to change that. I expected to be able to set a specific order to the songs that wake me up in the morning. Variety can be good, I guess, but it was a bum-damn-er when I realized it wouldn't play in the order I wanted. |

| Really loud and compact. Easy to fit anywhere. Stylish and sleek design make it relly attractive. But making the volume too loud ruins the sound quality a little bit but barely noticable. |
