| I picked this TV up at a local Circuit City Outlet for a STEAL, and I mean a STEAL!br /br /This TV has great picture quality and great component connections.br /br /Granted it is not 1080P, but as a secondary office TV it is GREAT!br /br /This TV easily compares to the TV's that are priced at 650 to 800 dollars (Sony, Samsung, etc.).br /br /Instructions are easy to use, and setup is a snap. The only con of this TV is the warm up time during the initial power on.br /br /Toshiba offers a 1 year warranty on Products and Labor. Extended warranties are typically offered through resellers, but it may or may not be required depending on the user, etc. br /br /Pros: Easy to read manual, many component connections, great picture quality, good sound.br /br /Cons: TV takes a while to warm up when initial turn on. |

| This television took very little time to get it set up and viewable. The tv arrived, was unboxed and within 15 minutes was being used. We used this tv as a stand alone but it is made to be able to put on the wall. Everything fit well and all parts and pieces were accounted for. The flat screen makes it much easier to watch because there is not the distortion of the picture of the other types of tvs. It is HD capable but at this time we are not using this function. If we were to need another television in the house, we would not hesitate to buy another. |

| This TV is great! It gets a crystal clear image and is really the perfect size for the bedroom. The only minor downside is that it is a little slow (to turn on, turn off, change inputs) but I really wouldn't consider that a deterrence from buying this. Great price, great TV. |

This TV is great when you're looking at it at eye level. Even if you're all the way to the right (or left), the picture looks great, so long as you're at eye level. As soon as you get up off your couch, half the contrast is lost! This does not happen in (perhaps more expensive) Samsung and Sony LCD HDTVs.
Other than this flaw, it's good that this TV has 2 HDMI inputs. Unlike my Olevia HDTV, this one had no problems hooking up a PS3 via HDMI. As a side note, the component is capable of accepting signals of 1080i (I assume that means that it also outputs 720p with component).
Good buy at $550. I'd definitely buy this over any other ~$500 set!
EDIT-- I forgot to mention how great the black levels on this TV are! They're pretty damn good, again, if you're watching it at eye level. Much better than the Olevia 232V it replaced! |

Cheap price, very solid. Has loads of inputs. I do not have a receiver, so all of my devices plug straight into the TV with no problems... DVD player using component a/v cables (2 available) VHS using coax (yes, my VCR is that old!!) Cable TV using s-video and RCA audio PS3 using HDMI (2 available) There's also one other set of RCA a/v inputs on the side of the TV and a VGA input for your PC. I also have attached an old Creative Labs sub and dinky speakers using the RCA audio outputs.
My only problem was with the remote. It doesn't work with any of my other devices (cable, DVD, VHS, PS3)... but hey, I really can't blame them for it. |

"Good TV but chance for damage product" | 2008-08-17 |

I am very happy with the quality of the TV. The pictures are good too. HOwever, when I first got this product, it was already damaged from the shipping. The delivery company which Aamazon contracted with, installed the TV for me anyway! I had to call Amazon to set up another delivery of the same TV in order to return the damaged one. So if you hear "popcorn sounds" inside the TV, please don't accept the delivery!
Luckily, Amazon was very quick on shipping out a replacement order and in less than a week, I have my new TV in my room and the damaged one picked up by Amazon.
Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase; I just wish I didn't have to go through all that trouble. |

I just got this tv a few days ago from another retailer, but I just had to write a review. This is a great tv with an excellent picture! The colors are so vibrant and crisp! I have HD but it's a great pic without HD as well. It also makes a great monster screen for your pc.
It has several hookups too and it's gonna look great mounted on the wall. It also has a smooth, sleek black piano finish.
This is a good tv! |

I went to my local electronics store, planning to buy the Sharp LC32SB24U rather than this Toshiba. The sales person suggested, before buying, I do a side by side comparison view of the Toshiba 32AV500U and the Sharp LC32SB24U. The Toshiba was $40 more than the Sharp, and I figured it would be the typical upsell.
But comparing the image quality of the Sharp and Toshiba, the Toshiba won hands down. The Sharp definitely had a more "washed out" look, while the Toshiba picture was more vibrant with blacker blacks and greater contrast. I doublechecked that both sets were tuned to the same HD source, etc. Anyway this demo was enough to (up)sell me and I bought the Toshiba. It has been great.
This unit is for the bedroom and I don't regret getting the 32" instead of a 26".
I didn't know much about QAM tuners before buying, but what that means is that I can connect my Verizon FIOS cable directly into the TV (no converter box) and receive digital TV channels, some HD channels, and all the digital music channels, all without needing a converter box. Obviously with a converter box you get a better user interface (onscreen interactive program guide) and many more channels, but for the moment I am happy using the TV with direct cable connection (no converter box) and saving a few $ per month.
HD picture quality is so much better than regular digital TV -- if you go to the expense of buying an HDTV (like this one) you really need to hook it up to receive HDTV or you are missing a whole lot.
I am not a videophile or audiophile but have to say that I would recommend this Toshiba very highly to anyone looking to spend between $600 and $700 for a 32" HDTV. |
