First of all, the delivery was a day or 2 sooner than expected. I spent allot of time on line researching heart monitors before purchasing. I wanted to make sure I purchased a heart rate monitor that would work in an athletic club, i.e. spin class, therefore the Digital monitor was the way to go. I also wanted the monitor to be easy to use and read. I had it narrowed down between the Pulsar and the Timex, as both appeared to be Digital and easy to use. I chose the Timex due to the fact that you can change the batteries yourself vs. sending it back to the manufacturer. I have used the watch about 5 days/week during exercise including running, biking and even group classes in the gym. It has worked great! I am very happy with the purchase.

I read the reviews and thought what if it doesn't work. Took the plunge anyway. Best plunge I ever made. Had it for about a month. I have no regrets. The HRM is easy to set up. The manual does not go into great detail, but you get enough to get going and if you are a quick study it's pretty easy. BY ALL MEANS READ THE MANUAL. The cost was a steal when compared with other sites. I use mine at least twice a week and it works very well. I use only the watch in chrono mode to time my daily walk on my lunch break at work. I stay in my zone, which I customized myself. It tells me how long I was in my zone and how fast I recovered as well as the total calories (requires chest strap to be on and watch in chrono mode). The calories are a bit exaggerated, but the HR is dead on. I am sorry that it does not save the workout totals to a log, but you can always write it down. Helpful hint- Use plain old tap water to make it work. Just a wet your fingertip and smear it on the chest strap, put it on and TA DA! I love it, and yes it is more of a girl size watch, but you guys can strap it to your machines like I do and get all the benefits without people looking at you funny. It won't display on my home elliptical like I hoped, but that's what the strap is for. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

It arrived the day before my first 10K race! I used it ("violating the rule: thou shall not try anything new the race day"), and it helped me to keep a good pace so i could finish the race without exhausting myself.
Pros:
- Affordable
- Easy to use (could use it the first time without reading the manual).
- Easy to maintain (cleaning the watch and sensor, washing the band).
- I find it very accurate, doesn't make jumps in the readings (i have compared it with the manual count: 15sec
x4 at rest; 6sec x 10 during training). I feel i can trust in the numbers the hrm shows.
- Review option is a nice feature, it shows a summary of your training, time and avg heart rate during
each interval.
- Indiglo feature is nice and good enough to read the watch in the dark (I use to jog at dusk, after work
hours).

Cons:
- None that i've noticed, so far. The only thing could be the repeated pressing of 'mode' button to pass between different features, but nothing i could get accustomed, not big deal.

Now i would like another device to, say, know the distance i run during my training sessions (as a begginer, I run a little more than 4mi, 4 times a week), to avoid using my car to clock the distance. Of course, that could be done using a GPS. Until now I'm using a pedometer, but i would like a more precise instrument. I'm considering some of the Garmin options... But until now, i'm very happy with my choice. I recommend this watch to anyone who wants to keep his/her heart in the appropiate bpm zone while training!

I bought this watch to help me train and keep track of my progress (i.e. - split times, heart rate, calories). It works great and the buttons are easy to push. My previous training watch was a Timex (I lost the old one) so the functions are familiar. I really like the 'Review' screen and the information it provides on my workouts. I was hoping that the watch would be slightly lager than it actually is.

This watch is perfect for someone who is serious about their fitness. I always wondered whether I was training to hard or not hard enough. Well this watch is perfect for monitoring your heartrate, knowing if your training in the appropriate zone and calorie expenditure. I never work out without it.

This is my first heart rate monitor so I don't have anything to compare it against. I mostly take spin classes and weight train occasionally. I'm a female that weighs 120lbs. I wanted a small watch. I use the second to smallest notch and the watch doesn't look over sized on me. I picked this watch because I can change the battery myself, it calculates calories and it's well priced. I'm very happy with it so far. I like the back light because spinning takes place in a dark room. I think the calorie counter might be overestimating, because the watch doesn't ask for age or sex, just weight. I don't know this for certain but I somehow doubt I burn 300 calories in 40 minutes doing weights. The chest strap is comfortable, and the heart rate monitor does appear accurate. If you run outside you might want more features like distance or gps, but if you workout in a gym this is a good watch.

It's very motivating to get your heart rate in the zone you want, instead of being lazy. I still haven't figured out how to use the recovery feature, but all the other features are easy to use and understand. I plan to also use to watch when traveling as an alarm and also to check the time at night and not wake up my husband. Overall a great purchase, and I highly recommend it for someone that just wants a simple to use heart rate monitor.
