I bought one for my youngest grand-daughter (1), and then realized I needed one for each of her older sisters (5 & 3), if I wanted the little one to ever get to play with hers. My kind of toy.........depends on the child's imagination, and can be so many things!

My two children play with this toy and relax in it all the time. It is great to encourage imagination and experimenting new ideas. It is a perfect chair for small children and a great ride (Spin in it) along with hundreds of other great fun ideas. My children sit in it with their legs pulled up and spin themselves with their arms. Lots of fun to do! I have to admit I was the first one to do it and the idea caught on fast. It is fun to spin and then tip over. You never know how you will land. If you try this do it on carpet so there will be no injuries. They also pretend their a turtle and this is their shell.
"I can't believe my kids actually play with this."
I read all the reviews and thought there was no way a child would actually play with this. Well, I was wrong. They were purchased for my 9 year old, 15 month old, and my 5 year old niece and every one of them has had a blast playing with them. I do find that they enjoy them more in groups. It is much more fun to spin in circles on the tile floor with a friend. I was surprised to see that my son (15 months) actually played with it. At this point, he pretty much just sits in it and rocks and laughs when he topples over backwards or uses it as a stool, but I think the uses he finds for it will expand over the next few years. So, overall, I'm pleasantly surprised at how much they like it.
As for durability, I think I could drive over this thing with the car and not damage it! They are super durable.

It's not like my kids play with this thing every day -- it's like a rocking horse -- an object that sits idle and collects dust until activated.
What have I seen my kids do with this thing? Crawl around with it on their back like a turtle, hold it over the head peering out the (2) holes like a mask, tie a rope through the holes and tow things, sit and laze inside with a book. We even went down a snowy hill in it when I couldn't find the sled (!).
But most off all, the kids want Daddy to manically push and spin them around in it forever (so tiring). As such, the bottom is heavily scuffed and scratched.
It was worth the money -- and when other kids visit they are always drawn to this thing and want to do something with it. There should be more free-form meaningless toys like this out there.
"A Great open-ended toy that inspires creativity! "

We got one last Christmas for our son who was 13 months at the time. He was a little afraid of it - it was big for him and he didn't know what to do with it, but our 8-year-old has had a lot of fun figuring out different things he could do with the Bilibo! Now the youngest is 2 and he loves it, too! Both boys find lots of ways to play with it and it's fun to watch what they come up with. They do tend to forget about it once in a while, but that's when I take it out and do something with it, which then inspires many other ideas and lots of play. I wish we'd got at least one for each kid, as they start to fight over it. I think they'd play longer & play better together if they each had 1 or 2. It is very sturdy, withstands a LOT of abuse, and no rough or sharp edges. Get this - it is great! Just be patient if your kid isn't very interested at first - it doesn't make noise or light up or DO stuff, but it'll be the toy they come back to over & over again.
