Excellent earphones, very good sound quality and comfort. I have tried several earphones (Shure SE530, Sennheiser IE8, and UE 700) but I couldn't get the proper seal with any of them except with the CX-500, which fortunately, is way cheaper than the other models. If you don't like its sound quality you've probably got a fake unit or you are not getting the proper seal. Like all earphones, no seal = no quality. Now that they are discontinued, the price is going up so I would suggest buying the newer CX-400II, which I haven't tested but seems to be very similar to the CX-500.

i bought a CX 500 B and also the CX 500 T, for some reason, the black version seem to play my music louder and with more base than this version, but the difference is not that big. i love them both and do not regret buying.

These head phones are not worth more that $15 so dont pay more than that. They are pretty cheaply made. One of the ear buds fell apart before I even go it out of the package and the other fell apart a few days later. I fixed this problem by bending the metal ring around the ear bud and haven't had any problems since. Also the emblems on the back of the ear buds both fell off within a week. On a good note the sound quality is pretty good and the volume control on the cord comes in handy.

These earphones are AMAZING. But like many of you might know, there are many fakes out there! When I received my pair, I spent about 3 hours examining every piece of the Sennheiser CX-500s. For those who want to know, I purchased these for 35$ from Digipearl, and from what I received, they definitely sell genuine Sennheiser CX-500s.
Before I purchased these, I owned a pair of Sennheiser CX-300s and the Sennheiser PX-200s. These headphones are no match for the sound that is produced from the Sennheiser CX-500s. The CX-300s were very crisp and clear, with a great balance of lows, mids, and highs. However, after comparing them with the CX-500s, the CX-300s just couldn't produce the POWERFUL BASS that is so evident in the CX-500s. Moreover, the sound of the CX-500s was just as crisp and clear as the CX-300s. You just can't compare them, the CX-500s are far more superior than the CX-300s.
If you decide to purchase these, make sure you google "how to spot a fake Sennheiser CX-500s". DO NOT BUY FROM EBAY! There are many fakes on ebay and your best bet is to find a trusted seller on Amazon. Digipearl had an Amazon Fulfillment, allowing them to store their products on Amazon.com, so I knew I could trust this seller, and it ended up paying off BIG TIME. If you receive a genuine pair, you will be AMAZED at how great these things sound. The bass is powerful, one of the best I've heard. For around $35, you will be getting a high end pair of earbuds that can compete with 200-500$ earbuds such as the Shures and Etymotics of the world. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS, BUT MAKE SURE YOU BUY A GENUINE PAIR!
The sennheiser CX series are some of the best inexpensive headphones out there. Properly fitted they match the performance of headphones costing three to five times as much. At about $35 these are the replacement for the standard Apple headphones.

These are nice and small, but the sound quality is anything but small. I bought these to listen to music on my netbook, and these really fit the bill.The volume control is a nice extra and the pouch that comes with it fits easily into my netbook case. Overall a really nice headphone for the price!
