I bought this as a second car seat for my 1997 Honda Civic after looking for a good car seat for my small car. The Britax roundabout is in my husband's 1998 Honda Accord. I read rave reviews and also the negative ones about not much padding and head falling forward or little recline. I like this seat because it will grow with my child and change to a booster up to 100 lbs. Although it is not as soft as the Britax and does not have Gracopedic foam, it seesm to be adequately padded. I like the shoulder and buckle pads. My son (2Y) looks comfortable in it, but for a long car ride (e.g. 5 hours or more) I will probably use the Britax. I agree the recline is not impressive, but on the "steepest" recline, and with the natural lean backward of the Honda seat, my son's head does not fall forward when sleeping, but leans on the side. The mesh lining makes it a little more breathable for his sweaty baby head. I assembled it and installed it myself without my husband's help. The seat cover is more complex than the Britax, but so far it appears to hold. It is one heavy seat, though, and I will probably not try to bring it onto a plane as a five-point harness seat. The seat fits fine in the rear center and an average size person can still fit on either side of it.

I bought this after reviewing the Kyle David Miller memorial video online, and knew we needed a 5 point seat for our 5 year old. I actually reviewed numerous seats online, then went to B'R'US to actually check out the fit with her in tow. As we couldn't buy Britax on our budget, this was comparable, has a higher torso height than others, and also had a taller head rest capability. I HIGHLY recommend this seat!I'll buy another for our 3 yo when he outgrows what he has (his seat currently only goes up to 40 lbs in the 5 pt. harness).

We bought this for our one-year-old grandson as a step up from his rear-facing seat. We hope it will be the last seat he will ever need. Assembly was straightforward as long as you read the manual. Supposedly, this seat is smaller than most of the Britax models, but it sure takes up a lot of room in the back of our Passat. Installation was easy with the LATCH system. We tried this out on a 7-hour drive to a wedding and he obviously prefered facing forward (not so much screaming as in the rear-facing seat). One disappointment, the recline feature is negligible, but he seemed to sleep just fine.

This is a great car seat. I love that it is a 5 point harness until 65lbs. and best of all, my toddler is very comfortable in it. It is easy to adjust, easy to clean, easy to get child in and out of and the straps do not get twisted (a problem I have had with other car seats!). We have been using it for about 6 weeks and I am very happy with it. I found it very easy to put together...it took me 5 minutes. Installs in my car with LATCH just as easy as any other car seat. My son is 21 months old, about 29 lbs and 34 inches long and he still has so much room to grow. The crotch strap is still in its first slot and the shoulder straps have 4 height options. I will buy this car seat again for my 2nd child. |

Works great for a 1+ year old facing forward. My 15 month-old son was quickly outgrowing even the top harness slots on his Graco Comfort Sport convertible car seats, this one will last forever, it keeps on adjusting with their growing height. Very comfortable, even reclines some. He absolutely loves the little cubbies! I wish I had never bought the convertible car seats and had just kept him in the infant seat until he was ready to face forward. Great value!

We got this seat for our son when he outgrew his infant seat at one year and just over 20 pounds. We thought it would be a good one that he would have until he didn't need one any more. Unfortunately every time we put him in it, he cried. I think it was too big for him and the recline is really non-existant so he was sitting too straight up to sleep. We returned it after a couple of days and got him a Britax Marathon which has great recline and is more cushioned. I'm sure this is a great seat for bigger kids but not to move out of from an infant seat.

We needed a car seat for our 3 year old that would convert to a booster, so that we could use her old car seat for a younger sibling without buying a seat w/harness now and a booster later. We're very pleased with this seat, as it allows her to be strapped with the harness to 65 lbs and will be the last seat she will need. It is comfortable for her, and she loves the cup holder, which is in a much better position for regular use than most. Also, the head rest wraps around her head so that when she falls asleep, her head doesn't wobble around. It is easy to adjust and easy to put together/install. She is safe and secure in this seat, and for the price I couldn't be happier!

After owning only Britax seats through the years, we recently bought this seat as an extra. It will be used for quick trips in the communter car... but... it is a fantastic seat! It is built solid, with great features similar to the Britax. It has a wraparound head area, and adjustable height that is easy to change. The belts do not twist, and are adjustable in the front, with rollers in the back to keep them moving smoothly. My daughter was slumping forward when sleeping, but with the recline it is not an issue. We attached with the top tether and LATCH (she is still under the max weight) and it was a breeze. It is a wonderful alternative to the belt-positioning booster, for now, until 65 pounds! It can easily convert to three different seats as she gets older. This will truely last a long time. We are pleased in every way and think that it was well worth more money. The harness is the biggest feature that we bought it for, and would buy it again. Hope that this helps anyone on the fence~ Britax are great seats, but this is as well.

Previous Britax Owner...Love this seat!, September 6, 2008 Reviewer: Margaret Jones (Glendside, Pennsylvania) - See all my reviews
I recently purchased the Britax Regent for my 4 1/2 year old son and was convinced that by spending more money for the car seat, my son would be safer in it opposed to a less expensive one. I couldn't be more wrong. The Britax Regent is a sturdy seat and I am impressed that the harness goes up to 80 lbs and I plan to use it in the future for that reason, but it was such a pain to install. I was looking for a second car seat that had a high harness weight limit and came across the Graco Nautilus. After doing some research on it and having my son try it out in the store I was convinced that this was the seat for us. The install in the car was a breeze with the latch and the tether strap and I actually got it tighter than the Britax Regent. I was so impressed with the seat overall that I decided to use it in my primary vehicle and put the Regent in my parent's car for when they pick up my son from school. The Regent is a great car seat, don't get me wrong but it is large and bulky and it is insanely time consuming to install and to get tight. I am in love with this car seat and only wish that I had discovered it sooner. I still plan to use the Regent when my son exceeds 65 lbs and can no longer be harnessed because the Regent can accommodate an 80 lb child with a 5 point, but I can not get over how impressed I am with this seat. Way to go Graco!!
