This is really good machine. I've used it three times now. The amazing starting sequence is awesome. Just prime the engine, move the choke lever to start and pull the starter rope. The choke lever automatically goes to the correct position and the engine starts before the rope is pulled out completely. Amazing.
The shipper started the shipping process immediately after receiving my order and the item arrived on time.
However, the box did not contain an owner's manual or the throttle cable tie downs.
I telephoned the shipper and was told the owner's manual and cable ties would be shipped to me shortly. But, I received two new replacement throttle cables (no cable ties and no owner's manual). On the internet, I managed to locate a similar Ryobi back pack model and downloaded the owener's manual.
At least I have two spare throttle cables (that I presume are the correct parts for this model) if and when my throttle cable breaks. I have no idea why I received two cables.
I'm very pleased with the machine, delivery time, and value.

The specs (CFM, MPH) are not the same under "Technical Details" as under "Product Details", and the difference is significant. When I sent a note to Amazon pointing this out, I got a canned response saying they could not use my "correction". (It was not a correction, but asking THEM to fix the error. Apparently nobody actually reads these things.)
If you search the Web for "Ryobi ZR08570", you can find it cheaper elsewhere and without the $20 s&h charge being tacked on here (at this time: Sept.2009).
I'm a huge fan of Amazon, but now and then they just seem to lose track of the high standards which have gotten them so many customers, and it almost always seems to be when they are taking orders for a product offered by another company. This is one of those cases.

This is the first Backpack style blower ive ever owned, its a little tough getting it on at firstafter a few times its easy now. runs great and starts on first pull. This unit has mire power than my last hand held blower, which will come in handy in the fall for leaves.

The bellows (one of the pieces in the blower tube)came cracked. Customer Service was very nice about sending a new one, but the wrong one was sent and it eventually took two weeks to get the correct one. The blower takes at least three minutes to warm up. Even then it will probably stall or sputter. Most of the time it will reach full speed and operate properly, but not always.

The blower is nice and light once on your back. Trigger control is in a good position. Force of blower is adequate but I felt that the mixture adjustment is out slightly as the revs are inconsistent and vary. It feels as if the highest revs coulde be attained with a tune up. Unfortunately, the carburettor is non adjustable, I checked the plug and it was well used. It was not the recommended plug as listed in the manual but rather a plug with a colder rating. Even after changing to a new NGK, copper core, grooved electrode plug, although there was a slight improvement, I felt that the revs could have been slightly higher and smoother. Maybe this is how the performance is suppose to be. I made sure that the 2 stroke fuel mixture was indeed a 50:1 mix. Overall, I will rate it 4 stars and would recommend it to others looking to replace their tired older unit.
