An excellent value for the money. Cools a 650 sf. apt. quickly. Not exactly whisper quiet,but not disruptive and a fair trade off for an inexpensive in the wall unit. There were no unexpected hassles with installation.

This unit does exactly what the manufacturer says it will do. So far so good. However; the directions, as others have stated, are minimal and the photos are washed out with too little contrast so don't rely on precise instructions for installation. I had to install this in a window with a jalousey-type mechanism as it was the only window in my home that was suited for placement. It took about a week part-time to remove the mechanism and rebuild the framework to accept the unit which is now installed and working well. I just cleaned the filter for the first time this morning. It was rather difficult to get the guard off the front so I could get to the filter and almost as hard to put it back on. Otherwise, I'm satisfied with the unit and at this point just hope the Arizona desert won't be too much for it. We shall see. Sure do like that remote control.

This unit is fabulous!! I have 1200 square feet of space and my ceilings are 7 feet and this unit has no problem cooling it! I keep my area at 73 degrees. Plenty cool enough for me. I know it says 640 square feet, but it runs perfect. I also love the auto features. It shuts down when the temp is met! The fan also adjusts itself to run at a speed required to cool the area. The noise level is what is to be expected from such a large unit,(12,000 BTU's). I have no cons for this unit. I am very happy I bought it! BTW... the temps in my area are in the low to mid 90's and high humidity. If you are in the market for a air conditioner... BUY THIS ONE!

This air conditioner is very good. I have read reviews before on how loud it is, but thats not so true. I have a large bedroom and its perfect.It lets out cold air and has good strength. I'm gald i purchased it. I would definetly recommend this air conditioner to anyone!!!!

I bought the newer model at Lowe's for $299 and it has a better energy efficiency. The unit is pretty quiet and does a decent job of cooling my 1000 sq foot apartment. I don't need the place ice cold though.
The air conditioner itself is perfectly fine. It blows cold air, as advertised. What is not perfectly fine, are its incomprehensible installation instructions, which are supplemented with washed out, unfocused photographs. The instructions would have been more useful if badly trained seals had put them together.
