This is my first cross-bar adapter, I use it on a women's bike with a beach cruiser style frame. Easy to use and makes mounting my bike on my Allen bike rack a whole lot easier.

Make mounting of bike without the traditional crossbar easier. Well constructed and designed to last a lifetime. Easy to install, but needs a little practice to smoothly install the locking pin. Works great with my Allen 4 bike rack.

There's not much that could go wrong with using this and it does the job it is suppose to. The pin and "U" connector really should have some insulation to avoid scratching the bike stem, so I've been using electrical tape until I can come up with something better. I'm sure I've seen other adapters with more padding and I'd probably go that way if I were to do it over again. But this is not a hill to die on for me.

Thanks to the other recommendations here I bought one of these last week along with the Allen 3 bike spare tire mount rack. The adaptor was so easy to use I almost thought I had done something wrong. Made loading my womens commuter bike onto the rack a breeze! Had I not read the reviews I wouldn't have even realized I needed an adaptor for my bike which would have really bummed me out when I went to load them on. Thanks to everyone for your reviews. Great price and great adaptor.

I love the Allen preium 2 bike rack. I purchased it last week. I had it up on my 2009 Forrester in less than 10 min. I'm only 5'2" so I thought it might be too much to handle but NO problem. It was easy to mount and held my two bikes with no problems. I didn't need the Allen tension bar though. After reading other commentaries I thought I might need it for a woman's bike or child's bike but, we had both and the bikes were mounted with no problem (after following the directions to adapt to these conditions). Thanks for a great product at a great price. Shipping was quick too!

I received the allan tension bar that was sent out quickly. The bar is in perfect shape, and is very easy to use. I would recomment it to anyone that transports bikes on a bike rack.
