Found that with the Allen Bike Racks, you need too use this lock.
It works great. Keeps the bike rack from wobling back and fourth
as you drive down the road. Very little play once you put this
lock/bolt on.
"No brainer."

Worked well as described. Easy to install. Has 3 keys, so I should have no excuse for loosing any! Used with our Allen 5 bike rack. Pleased with value. I really appreciate Amazon. I do shop around as I did get the bike rack from Greenfish Adventure Sports. Allen 555RR Premium 5 Bike 2" Hitch Rack for $149 from Greenfish. Price/deal was cheaper. Shipping was free and IMMEDIATE. Within 24 hours. I was equally pleased with Greenfish, which was a company I'd never heard of. Took a chance. [...]. I equally recommend them for the value though Amazon is a great company to work with.
This product works great. It keeps the Allen bike rack from wobbling as I drive and keeps the rack secure. Do not just drill a bigger hole into the Allen rack to accommodate a normal locking pin, it will not hold the rack correctly.
The item arrived with the box compromised, but as mentioned by others, when I opened it, everything was fine. It took less than a half hour to install on my 2008 Toyoto Highlander equipped with a Reese 2" hitch. I purchased the Allen Universal Stainless Steel Locking Hitch Pin for 2-Inch or 1 1/4-Inch Receiver Hitches to use with this. I bought my wife a bicycle several years ago since she said she never had one as a child. But she very rarely used it because she was afraid of riding in the street. I purchased this product with the intent of carrying our bikes to bike paths and/or trails which I hoped would get her to ride the bike. We took a one week vacation to Hilton Head Island the last week of 2008. We drove from Columbia, SC to Hilton Head Island, SC (almost 3 hours) and used the carrier. It was easy to mount the bikes and they were very secure. The unit itself is very substantially made and the appears to be just as well made as other carriers costing 2 or 3 times more. I would highly recommend this carrier. By the way, my wife really enjoyed riding her bike on the bike paths and now wants us to go riding together several times a month on the local trails. So all in all, this was a great purchase!
Not a lot to say - it simply does what was intended. It secures the Allen 4 bike carrier I also purchased from Amazon and eliminates any movement from the carrier. The easy-to-use lock makes sure it all stays on my Yukon. I've been driving around for 2 weeks with it on - no worries.
The design makes this very secure. It even has a rain cover for the lock. It keeps my bike rack from swaying, rattling, or moving at all during transport. My only gotcha is that it requires a socket wrench and a combo wrench to tighten the lock nut. I wish there was a way to install it without other tools.
