    Purchased this product one year ago. Rack was on and off vehicle five or six times, lock worked well. The only problem is to make sure lock is secured to pin BEFORE hasp is placed on the pin. The lock is so tight against the hasp that if you put the hasp on first, the lock may not engage and fall off. I would recommend this lock, but only with this warning.

    The Yakima HitchLock Locking Hitch Pin with Core seems to work really well. I've used the lock now a few times and haven't had any problems with it. It really is more of a deterrent though, as someone probably could get it off if they had the time. It sits right at the end of the hitch pin and has a small lever that fits into the groove at the end of the hitch pin when the lock is engaged. The cap does fit on pretty tight, so it's not real easy getting on and off.

    I use this product with my Yakima Holdup 2-Bike Hitch Mount Rack with Lock Cable (1.25-Inch Receiver).

    Overall I'm happy with the purchase and would recommend this to anyone using a Yakima bike rack.

    I purchased this item as part of a set when I also purchased a Yakima DoubleDown 2-Bike Hitch Mount Carrier. It's simple to use and locks onto the long hitch pin that attaches the carrier to your trailer hitch mount. Two keys are included and a dust cap on the lock itself prevents moisture and road debris from corroding the lock. Surprisingly easy to use. With the lock on the end of my hitch pin instead of a flimsy, more standardized locking clip, I can rest assured my bike rack is not going anywhere.

    This hitch lock is exactly what it claimed to be and it works perfectly. It is very simple to attach and protects the hitch pin from accidentally coming out or from potential theft. I have left it attached for weeks at a time and it wears very well. It comes with two keys. It is exactly what I wanted.

    I bought this hitch lock for a 2002 yakima full swing bike carrrier that I purchased used. The lock traveled 4000 miles holding the carrier in place. It is easy to use except you can not fit the key hole cover on as it was too tight. That wasn't significant and didn't effect the locking mechanism. Overall good lock for this carrier. If you have questions about which lock will fit your carrier, call Yakima they had great customer support and told me exactly what to buy.
