This is the first digital camera I've ever purchased and I really love the quality of the pictures it takes. It is very user friendly. It has a quick shutter speed for quick pictures. I showed it to my son (he has used digital cameras) and he took to it very quickly even without reading the manual. And now he wants one. This is going to be great for taking family pictures at Christmas this year. I'm still learning about what it can do but so far I would buy it again.

Purchased this camera refurb. from an Amazon seller and it works great. The lens is flexible and pretty good. I'm an old school 35mm SLR guy and I've always been disappointed with the shutter lag and lack of control in point and shoot digicams. This camera is quick like my old SLR and has enough controls to make picture taking fun again.

Easy to use and takes great shots! I've been able to frame a lot of the photos that I've taken with this camera and get comments on whether the photos were store bought or that I took them! Decent price too for level of camera.

I don't have this model, I have the older model for a year & a half. PROS: this series of Kodak cameras takes great day pics, beautiful night pics (provided you have a tripod), the 12X optical zoom is amazing! it's not pocketable but still small & lightweight for a camera w/ such features. CONS: the processing time between shots is longer than I've experienced w/ other point & shoot cameras & the macro mode does not work well - the camera is unable to focus on close range for photography of small flowers. also -after taking 3000+ shots w/ the camera, it's starting to show some signs of mal-function: like the review mode jumping to the camera mode frequently on its own during the photo review function, & the camera freezing up on rare occasions which required me to take the battery out to restart it. but it probably will still last me another year or few.

despite the cons, I still love this camera for its versatility & super zoom function! & the price is great. I will definitely buy this camera again when mines die.

This is a great camera, I really enjoy all the features that come with it including being able to take panoramic pictures and set my camera on manual settings.

I received this camera in December 2008. After using it for a few weeks, I noticed that it would periodically shut off for no reason, immediately after I turned it on. I assumed the batteries were weak and replaced them and that sometimes helped but sometimes it didn't. Then I did an internet search on "problems with the Kodak Z1012" and realized that several people were having the same issue with this camera. The camera takes great pictures but it does have problems with shutting itself down, even with brand new batteries of any kind. It isn't reliable but it does take good pictures when it works.
