first off, the battery life on this camera is incredible. this thing holds a charge for the longest time. i don't use it on an everyday basis, @ every 3 days or so, and the battery didnt get charged for @ 250 pictures and didnt really need it then. the charger is a really compact, folding plug in charger that is simple to use and store - keep it in the case with the camera or you might lose this little compact charger. the camera itself is sturdy and great looking. the screen is large for the cameras compact size. the picture quality is absolutely amazing! this is the best compact that i've ever used, bar none. you can't go wrong with this purchase.

Got it as a gift to my dad last December.I should say i do not have any problems till now.Feature wise the IS (Image staabilization) and Face detection are worth while mentioning.This Camera starts very quickly from off to on mode however its a little late between the shots,but for an average user it shouldn't matter much as it is around 3 seconds.Battery life is good.The camera is so compact and very handy to carry in your pocket.

I think this is an excelent camera for people that wants to capture their vacations, weedings and birthday parties, the face recognition and the image stabilization work wonderful, the color and picture quality mainly in interiors is excelent, I use it a lot in the Auto 6MP and medium setting because it makes pictures good enough for me, but i sometimes do use it in manual mode for taking pictures with no flash. The color accent and color swap features are great for making funy pictures. The only thing I miss from my old Nokia S1 is the great color it could capture in outdoor pictures with good light, for examples de landscapes of a sunny day, this Canon doesn't capture that good pictures in this conditions, for example the sky always turns a grayish color instead of the beatiful blue i could capture with the Nikon, in the other hand, the nikon had continous Auto ISO adjust, i mean it could capture pictures in any ISO between 50 and 400, the Canon has fixed ISO's 80, 100, 200, etc...Anyway, I'm happy with the camera and i think i would buy it again.

bought this canon to replace my wifes old canon. this is smaller but with a larger lcd screen.
never had a problem with her old canon, so i decided to stick with canon and got her the sd770.
you can't go wrong with canon, you may find cheaper cameras, but if you want great picture quality
go with canon. i bought this for her this past christmas (2008) for 159.00 and free shipping. not sure
why the price has gone up, usually prices go down with electronics and the cheapest i have seen this
camera now is 199.00.
