| I can't say enough about the clear and crisp sound from the built-in speaker and headphones. The resolution is also very clear and easy to view. It is also very lightweight and small enough to almost make you forget it's there. I plan to buy another one. |

| I am a software engineer and therefore my review is biased accordingly:br /br /Functionality: The player has some of the best functions that you could expect br / - internet connectivity lets you do a lot more than other players (chat, stream songs/videos etc.)br / - The Xi-Fi does make a difference when listening to good quality mp3sbr / - Preset equalizers and custom equalizer gives you enough options for different genre of musicbr / - the video format conversion software works great an seamlessly converts videos behind the scene when transferring videosbr / - The sound quality (specially with the EP-830 earphones) is very goodbr / - The video is crisp and I did not notice any fading or dark area around edges for the videos that I transferred (although some users mentioned that in their review)br / - The external speaker does a good job unless you are in a noisy environment. Quality of sound is decent.br / - The built in radio is quick in scanning for channels and the sound quality is comparable to good quality mp3sbr / - The battery life is impressive. I 've had to charge my unit once a week with 2 to 3 hours of playback per day.br /br /Form factor:br / - Very light and slenderbr / - The screen is clear and the colors come out vividbr / - The audio jack is located at the right place so as to keep the earphone cable straight (a lot of players don't care for that and as a result your earphone cable dies soon due to frequent bending at the connector)br / - BAD: The button interface, in my opinion, is not very friendly. You have to be cautious of what you press and many times look at the buttons to make sure your finger is on the right one. Compare this to a jog dial (from my previous player), once I had my finger on the jog key I could just toggle it left, right, up, down, diagonal etc. Specially useful when the player is in your pocket or on your armband and all you wanna do is increase/decrease the volume.br /br /CRITIQUE: The player sounds great, video quality is very nice, lots of features to play with (so you want get bored soon!!) and internet connectivity is plus if you are the kinda person who would put it use.br /br /COMPARISON WITH iRIVER Clix 2:br /If you are and audiophile and care less about features then Clix 2 might be the choice for you. This player is feature packed and "in my opinion" comes as close as 80% to the quality of sound of clix 2 (I know this 'cause my wife bought the clix 2 when I bought this player). br /br /SUMMARY: X-Fi is lots of features and good quality sound and video but Clix 2 is a notch above in sound quality (at the cost of features). Make your pick!! |

| Expensive, outstanding sound, radio not a feature I will use due to reception where I live. Somewhat easy to use but not as easy or idiot proof as the $30-40 MP3s. Have yet to use the more exotic features, such as playing videos, IMs, wireless, but eventually I plan to. |

"Great MP3 Player" | 2008-09-20 |

| After researching quite a few other players available, I finally settled on the Zen X-Fi, and so far, I'm extremely pleased with my purchase. I wanted a player that was compatable with subscription content (I've used Rhapsody To Go for quite a few years) and it works as it should. I wanted decent video quality - the Zen has a great screen, and video playback is very clean. And most important, I wanted good sound reproduction, and the Zen is excellent. Excellent, without any need for the X-Fi settings that the player has a available. This will most likely be a personal choice, and largely dependant on the type of headphones you use, but I find the sound reproduction much better with all of the additional sound enhancement settings turned off. Battery life is very good - I don't know about 30+ hours good, but I'm getting more than 20. I love the expansion slot for an extra media card, but I hate that Creative doesn't let you access the data the same way you do from the players main memory. This is a gripe from just about everyone, and it doesn't look like Creative is going to do anything about it anytime soon. I can tell you that several different makes of 8 gig cards have worked for me so far. I guess to summarize - the Zen is an excellent player, with a lot of features, at a great price point. I would definately recommend this player to anyone, and my only regret is that I didn't just shell out the extra money and get the 32gig version, instead of the 16gig. I'm using it much more than I thought I would, and I can use all the storage space I can get :) |

| The hardware (Creative Zen X-Fi 16gb) is fine, but the software (Creative Centrale) is really crummy. It's better to just drag and drop from Windows Explorer than to try to use that P-O-S. Try it, you'll see - probably written by a 10 year old. |

"Good Overall Mp3 Player with a Reasonable Price" | 2008-09-06 |

Pretty much here is the breakdown for the Zen x-fi:
Pros: - Very easy to put music on here. Basically drag and drop. - Large, bright screen - Doesn't take long to charge and battery lasts a good amount of time - Nice set of earbuds - Very light weight - Cool sleek design (as you can see) - Once you get used to the controls they're easy to use - Cool extra features like wi-fi and txting (but really don't see myself using either) - Sounds pretty good
now for the cons: - Feels a little cheaply made - You can't just play all the songs made by one artist. It will only play one album at a time. - Shuffle seems to play the same songs over and over. - Making a playlist on the player is not easy. - Would have liked an option to be able to browse music on the player the way you organized it instead of the player orgainizing it for you.
All in all it's a good mp3 player with a few frustrating things, but easy to overlook. I just leave mine in the car and put it on shuffle and it works great. It being so lightweight is ideal for running as well. Haven't used the earbuds much but they sound a lot better than most earbuds that come other mp3 players. |

"Zen X-Fi exceeds expectations" | 2008-09-05 |

| I've purchased creative products before, and they are always stellar, but the X-Fi is really a cut above. The speaker, although small, is powerful and provides higher quality than my friends portable speakers. The wireless is useful, and allows you to access your songs via the network instead of with the USB, although either is good. The best thing about the X-Fi is the X-fi software itself. On any song, from any time period, it transforms the sounds from choppy to elegant, transitions become seamless, it sets the tone for any mp3 player to follow. It is also worth mentioning the quality of the headphones included in the package, they really are a great value. Easily the best headphones i have ever owned. |
