| This is hard to beat for a mini-laptop. Very light and easy to carry. Not blazing fast, but fast enough. Quick booting and quick hibernating, and will run for hours on battery. br /br /The keyboard is cramped, but useable, and the display is small and needs some scrolling to see everything. br /br /All in all, it's exactly what I needed for an on-the-go laptop. |

| Asus EEE PC 1000 / 1000H 10" Premium Memory Foam Pouch Case - (Black)br /br /I have to travel to Colorado three times a year for school and wanted a backup laptop computer. During my last trip my laptop stopped working and made it very difficult to take notes and keep up with email. This time I have my EEE as a backup. But, I also use it when walking to the local café with free internet access. I love my new EEE. I did however upgrade the memory to 2Gigs and also the hard drive to 250 gigabytes.
br /br /Negatives - hard to find accessories for laptop - ASUS should have a site where I can get an extra battery etc... I had to purchase all the accessories from Ebay. |

| Better than I expected, and I expected it to be pretty good. Boots XP quickly, very little bloatware. Decent wireless range, great battery life (5 hours+ on wireless). I was worried about the keyboard: the size is really close to full size and it's solid and has a great feel. Very solid overall, not a toy in any sense. I use it primarily for inputting data for engineering analysis. It's no number cruncher, but it works fine for editing input files. It has a better video driver than I expected, too. Does a very credible job running a projector at 1280X1024 for presentations. Just buy it! You'll love it. |

| Tons bigger and faster than the EEE 701. Keyboard is just enough bigger to be really useful, touch pad is a little sensitive, but I use a wireless mouse with it anyway. Right shift key takes some getting used to, but when I started paying attention, I realized I use the left one way more anyway. The hard drive comes with 2 40Gb partitions - this just screams dual boot with linux ( which was a snap to install and set up with a little help from the eee forums ) The battery seems to last forever, but I'm not sure it will make 7 hours. I do like the little button that switches power profiles though. It runs all the programs I've tossed at it, not quite as fast as my dual-core desktop, but i was not expecting that from this little package. For the price and durability, I think this machine would be hard to beat. |

| Excellent product. Very tiny, not as tiny as the EEE 7 models, but still small enough to easily slip into a backpack. Very light, easy to hold in one hand.br /br /The keyboard is not as small as you would expect, when they say it is 92% of a normal keyboard, they mean it, it is only about 2 inches smaller than my desktop keyboard. The one drawback would be the right shift key, way too small and oddly spaced to be useful. Took a while to learn to use the left shift instead. Also, there is no keyboard flex as others have written, maybe they got older models.br /br /The screen is nice and bright. Battery life is amazing, on power saving mode, with the screen just turned down slightly, wi-fi and bluetooth on, I get around 4, maybe 5 hours of battery life. 3.5 of constant use. The PC boots up in under a minute with what I have installed on it, and it has no problems since I've gotten it. It's also so quiet I can't even tell if there's a fan inside this. Doesn't get too hot either, very warm, but not lap-burning hot like many laptops do.br /br /The speakers are what you would expect out of a laptop. The microphone and camera are good/above average quality and work well with skype.br /br /Bluetooth connects well with no problems to my Moto Q phone, and my bluetooth headphone/headset.br /br /Buttons on trackpad are a bit firm for my liking, trackpad is responsive, multitouch scrolling works well, but sometimes it hiccups and registers it as a "click". Also because of it's small size, it's easy to accidentally click on something when typing.br /br /As for the black finish, I like it, I don't get too many fingerprints on it, it does come with a cleaning cloth as well. A quick wipe every morning should solve anyone's problems. It also comes with a black carrying pouch/case. br /br /I would also recommend getting the Logitech MX Revolution Nano. The small size of the mouse compliments the laptop nicely, and the nano reciever doesn't get in the way of using the laptop pouch.br /br /For most people, 1GB of memory(stock) should be plenty, programs load fast enough. But for users who open more than 3-4 programs at once, or even browse with more than 5 or so tabs open should consider upgrading to 2GB (DDR2-SDRAM 533/667, 200-pin). So far opening many tabs in Firefox and opening 3 programs at once cause the system to slow down for me. |

| There are plenty of comprehensive reviews about the eee here so I won't get into too much detail on this. In a nutshell, I have been very happy with my eee and its capabilities - Great size performance compromise a more manageable screen size that the 900. The unit is thicker than I expected but still overall a great size. Not having an optical drive is no big deal at all (you can share a drive on a desktop machine you may have on your network run it over WI-FI for any installs - this has worked perfect for me) and the battery life is fantastic if you are used to a typical laptop. br /br /As many have mentioned though the right shift key can be a bit annoying I couldn't find much on the internet about this so I figured I would post some comments here after solving the problem with bits pieces of info I collected. I did not want to mess with the registry etc found a very easy tool (my Microsoft essentially built into windows) that lets you remap the keys. The first thing you will need is this though: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9D467A69-57FF-4AE7-96EE-B18C4790CFFDdisplaylang=en which is a resource kit which works with the XP installed on the eee. Install this go to a command prompt type "remapkey.exe". You get a nice visual diagram of two keyboards all you need to do is drag keys from the top keyboard (old mapping) to what you want them to do on the bottom. I dragged the right shift on the top to the up arrow on the bottom as well as the up arrow on the top to the right shift on the bottom (you could just do the first part if you want both keys to act as a shift) and after a restart its as if it was always like this. This is a fantastic prank tool if you would like to drive one of your friends nuts as well... If you are very particular you can also take a small flat head driver gently pull on the left side of each key to pull them off swap them. The keys are mounted by 4 points towards the corners so you are trying to turn the key inside out if that makes sense. Imagine folding each edge of the key up so it will release the mount point where the white rockers clip in. | Oh my goodness this is the best computer for everyday use at home and then to also take on the road . I had a bigger lap top that was starting to get to hard to take on the road . I got this just to take on the road .br /br /To my surpise this one was easier to type on so now i use it for on the road and everyday use . This is acually a answer to prayer bcause i have needed something that was so much easier to typt on for quit a while . This one is also faster than my other laptop it is a different brand though my other one . This Eee Pc is so much faster and the speakers wow . i remide this for everyone that wants something small with windows and fast to . This is a must for someone who wants something for on the road fast and or at home small laptop to .br /br /It does not have disk drive but i could live with out that . i use mostly jump drives anyway . this is a must for those of u that do use flash drives for exta things .br /br /It is so light wait . the wall outlet cord is so small to it does not add to the weight when u are carrying this in a tote bag or a brefcase , along with it all in the velvit sleeve that comes with and it even has mrosoft works wow .br /br /BOTTOM LINE LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS COMEPUTER IT IS A MUST BUY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| I own the Eee PC 701 and it's a great PC, but it's a little too small. The 1000H is perfect. The battery lasts an easy 5 hours with wifi enabled. Wifi N and Bluetooth are great additions. This is actually the only laptop I own with 802.11n wireless and I was amazed at what I was missing in speed. The keyboard is a perfect size for touch typing (unlike the 701). The screen is perfect for viewing web pages, no more horizontal scrolling all over the place like I had with the 701. Sure it's a bit larger and heavier than my 701, but it's every bit as well made and the compromise is well worth the benefits. About the only thing I dislike about this machine is thee piano black finish for the case. This attacts fingerprints like mad. I much prefer the matte finish like the 701 had. Similarly to 701, this machine boots XP in about 40 seconds and will resume from standby in about 8 seconds. It's rock solid stable and I always leave my in standby in the living room ready for a quick use. |
