This book is actually an easy read and it gets to the point. The only downfall I see is that there are not term definitions for most of the legal terms. I found many of the cases up to date and relevant to any school setting.

I teach grad level courses in school law. I used editions 2 and 3 of this text and edition 4 is much improved. Will use it for first time April 25 until late June. I suspect my 24 students will like it too.

This book, unlike most education titles is well written and interesting. All areas are covered in an easy to read format with list summaries for each of the sections.

After using this book for a masters class, I realized that I had inadvertently broken several laws and the district I work for did, too. I don't know why this is not something required for students in a teachers' program. Every teacher should know the law before entering the classroom. It would save a lot of trouble for the district and the teacher. If you haven't read a book on school law, I recommend this one. It's not as dry as it sounds and the author tries to write in a conversational manner that makes for a relatively easy read.

This book is a "must-have" for administrators! It is easy to read and includes all the information you need to know to be well-informed about current legal issues. I also ordered the Pocket Guide to take to school so I have one available for quick reference.
