| On paper this game sounds great. You get to use your wii-mote and nun-chuck to control your lightsaber and force powers. However the game is BORING!!! You just do the same thing over and over again. It is too linear. You walk down a path and kill people and the fight a boss over and over again. I don't recommend this game; it isn't worth the price. |

| Wii Mote, and the Lightsaber, what'd be a better fit(besides a wand)? Heck, the 'mote even looks half way like the glowing sword, so you'd think this would be a no brainer, right? No, you would be wrong.br /br / From a controller standpoint, Force Unleashes' combat should be percise and fluid, using your hands to mimic force powers and lightsaber attacks. Krome Studios prefers the Alzimers approach of 'wild wiggling', the same low-quality efforts that most Wii titles are plagued from already. Throughout the 8 hr (really!?) experience, you'll be treated to the linear level desgns with bland color schemes, while you randomly wave you're arms at the inginite army of brain-dead stormtroopers. All planets are intitally the same, the enimes' textures are so horendous, it's hard to tell them apart, just random isles of thugs, with one jedi at the end. The bosses, jedi's at rave, follow the hack-n-slash gameplay of the levels, only to be finished off by choriographed quicktime events(which are one of the only high points of the game). The only time I was a true bad-ass was when the game is in cinematics? I can't be one on my own accord? br /br / When a game gives box quotes on how 'you can choose good or evil', I was thinking allong the lines of havin that desicion more than once. The story was carefully thought out for a Star Wars game, or even movie, but when the cut-scene animations have characters with no emotion and such stiffness, it felt as if I was acting out a movie with action figures. |

| I don't want to echo what a lot of other reviewers have already said. Yes, the graphics in this game are definitely inferior to the 360 and PS3 versions BUT I can't imagine the other versions of the game being nearly as satisfying an experience as this one. Pushing a button to do execute a force push just can't feel the same as actually doing a pushing motion with your hand and seeing your enemies fly back on the screen. The camera is definitely an issue, a lot of times you will find yourself waving your light saber like a madman at enemies you can't see because the camera is out of position. You definitely DO feel powerful in this game as a Sith Lord but at times it seems like you loose a lot of health for just a few blaster hits but this could just because I'm still in the early stages of the game. |

Okay. When does the game start?
Keep in mind that I only played the single-player game, no combat or online yet.
I kept waiting for it to get difficult, but it didn't. In fact, the second to last boss (if you wan't to call him that) is one of the easiest of the game.
On top of that, the game is completely linear. By that I mean that you just walk through the maps (there is almost always only one way to go) hacking and slashing as you go. As another reviewer said, there is just about no consequence for dying (even on boss levels, the boss retains the damage you did before you died), so if you die you just start hacking and slashing again until you get through that stage. No exploring, no side-quests, nothing. All told, it took me about 9 hours, which is just sad for a $50 game. When you win you get to save the game and restart with all of your force powers still amped up so the game is even easier than before.
The graphics were disappointing. I realize that it's a Wii game, but so is Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and the graphics on that blow this game away. Now that I know what the Wii can do graphically (if the developers take the time to do it) I don't settle for less in games as widely hyped as this.
The controls were fun and having the force powers was fun, but some of the force moves were so much trouble to remember I just powered up the simple ones and used them, they worked just fine.
The story was the best part, it connects the third and forth movies. I think it was the story (and hoping that the game would get better) that kept me playing. But the story could have been told better in a graphic novel or even a couple of comic books.
My advice is that unless the online play turns out to be really cool, you should just rent this game and get through it in a weekend. Save your money. Thus far it has no replay value whatsoever. I plan on giving mine to a friend.
Also, I don't like Star Wars games where you play a Dark Side character. I know I may be in a minority in this and I knew that it was a Dark Side game when I bought it. I just don't understand the fun in killing good guys and innocents. |

I loved every bit of playing this game, as well as the storyline. As a longtime Star Wars fan, it was a lot of fun. However, there is not much there. I believe I finished the entire game in just under 9 hours of gameplay. How is that even possible for a game that has been in development for so long and cost $50??? It's a fun game, but unless you will replay the game over and over, I think you are better off renting it, as you will finish the game before you return it. |

Before I say anything, let me state that I have played this game on Wii as well as PS3, and I saw the game played on XBOX 360. The graphics presented on the PS3 version were simply stunning. Hands down, one of the coolest titles I have seen on PS3 so far, for sure. That being said, the reason I own a wii is that the controls are innovative and add a new dimension to game play.... this is where SWFU on wii comes in. Playing this game with the wii's controls is amazing. Granted, the graphics on the wii console are not on par with other next-gen consoles, so don't expect it to keep up in this arena...but despite that fact, this games graphics are surprisingly well done, and the physics engine is strong as well. There are stormtroopers and wookies rag-dolling all over the place! Several reviewers bashed the games graphics, but I was genuinely pleased. The graphics are, to be honest, on par with a REALLY good PS2 game. I get the impression that, rather than focusing on pushing the system to it's graphical limits, they focused on the overall gameplay experience. The controls are SO WELL DONE! I really can't imagine playing through this game with a xbox or ps3 controller... it would be a waste of time and BORING. If I wanted HD graphics, I would watch the movies! Using the wii's controls, you really feel like you are in the game. I know that sounds kinda lame... but the controls make all the difference with this title. The feeling you get when using the wiimote as your lightsaber and the nunchuck for your force powers/movement... it just works. period. You are able to chain together some really devastating lightsaber/force attacks, and it just feels natural... grabbing a felucian with the nunchuck, throwing your lightsaber at him with a flick of the wiimote, and then with a downward swing of the nunckuck, slamming him to the ground... it just feels so right.[smile] Also, I love that the speaker on the wiimote emits that awesome lightsaber sound whenever you swing it. Nice touch for sure.
Some people complained about the camera, but I got used to it quickly, and it worked well. I would say that this is easily the best star wars game to date. Lastly, let me mention that the versus mode is really well done. My only gripe is that there is no CPU player, so this mode is really only available when you have a second human player available. Me and a friend had a chance to play through it for a few hours yesterday, and we had way more fun than 2 grown men should be able to have playing a video game! My wife walked in to find me devastating him with a sith lightning attack, only to choke him to death and win the match... needless to say she was not impressed with my darkside prowess [lol].
So, please, do yourself a favor. If you own a wii, buy this game! You will not regret it. |

| My 7 year old Star Wars fanatic has been dying for this game to finally come out, so I bought it the Thursday after it was released. On Friday after school I let him play it-and by the time he had to go to bed he had already beaten the game! There are no consequences when you die in the game, you just come back to life! I am very disappointed in this game, something coming from Lucas Arts should have more of a storyline and should not be so easy that a 7 year old can beat it in just a few hours! I hope when The Clone Wars game comes out it is better than this! You are better off renting the game instead of spending the $49.99 I spent for the Wii version. My son is playing the game again because he loves Star Wars, but he is disappointed in the game. |

| I bought TFU yesterday and have had a hard time stopping my play time since. The controls are great! Slash away like a maniac with the Wii remote and your character does the most beautiful combos. But my favorite is in the left hand. The nunchuck force delivery system! I've already maxed out my force push to the point where I can dispatch 1/2 dozen stormtroopers with one push. Grap is awesome, too; theres nothing like picking up your enemy and throwing him/her off a balcony or out a window (and yes, you can smash them through the glass) in cloud city. br /The only bad part of the game is the camera. For the most part it stays behind you, but it's often slow to react to turns. It would be nice to be able to use the otherwise useless left/right d-pad functions to control the camera. The game is linear, but no more than any of the Jedi Knight games. I guess at 38 years old, I'm too old to understand why the graphics appear to some as substandard. Personally, I think the graphics beat the hell out of the Atari games I played as a kid.br /I've logged over 7 hours of play time so far and I'm pretty far into the story. This weekend I think I'll have to serve up a large portion of whoop-a$$ to my kids in duel mode. We haven't tried that yet.br /For me, it was worth buying the game to have it around to duel on. If dueling isn't your bag, rent it. |
