"Fantastic computer monitor and HDTV!" | 2009-09-05 |

I originally purchased this monitor as an external monitor for a MacBook Pro, but I am now also using it daily as an HDTV. As a computer monitor, it is not quite as crisp and sharp as the MacBook's LCD, but that is not surprising, due to the extremely high quality of Apple LCDs. Likely the only way to match the quality of the MacBook LCD is to purchase an Apple Cinema Display ($$$).
As a computer monitor, I have been very happy (using DVI connection).
As a bonus, this monitor included a built-in HDTV tuner, so I plugged in some old rabbit ears and started watching OTA HDTV. Wow!
The speakers are a bit weak, so I sometimes plug in my external computer speakers to the TV's headphones jack.
Because I was enjoying the HDTV so much, I finally connected a DirecTV HD DVR (HR22) to this TV, and now it can get all of my channels, not just OTA. The DVR connects via HDMI, and the quality is excellent.
This TV's remote is also nice and simple and easy to use.
The onscreen menus are crisp and easy to understand.
I really only have 2 complaints about this monitor: (1) speakers are weak (but to be expected in a monitor this small), and (2) it attracts dust like crazy!
I highly recommend this monitor either as a computer monitor or an HDTV - or both!

"Easy to Wall-mount for a little extra cost" | 2009-08-22 |

I recently bought a Samsung T220HD for the reasons many other folks have mentioned, and because I truly liked the image quality of my older Samsung monitor. It replaces a 3-1/2 year old 19" Samsung 940MW that had just slightly lower contrast and resolution specs, BUT which had a PIP function that I used a lot, and VESA mounting holes standard. However it had no ATSC digital tuner, and a short while ago the power supply died . . . . so, time for replacement.
My old monitor was wall-mounted using a VideoSecu Wall Mount VideoSecu Wall mount for LCD Monitor Flat Screen TV with Swing Arm VESA100/75 -ML10B. The mount sells today for about $30 with shipping. The T200 does not have standard VESA mounting holes, but Samsung makes a Wall Mount Bracket (#WMB 1900T) Wall Mount Bracket 19-22" that allows the T200 or T220 to use my already installed VESA wall mount. The Samsung bracket also sells for about $30 today.
So if you already have a VESA-standard wall-mount like I do, the Samsung adapter will add $30 to your cost if you want to use it. If you need to buy both, your extra cost to put it on the wall will be $60. They work very well together, and though I hate to spend extra dollars, they're not egregious costs for saving lotsa desk space.
While I really like the T200, I've deducted one star since it has no PIP, and no standard VESA mounting holes. The "no-PIP" deduction is probably unfair, since I could find no manufacturer that provided this feature on LCD Monitor/TVs until the 30-inch range or so. But I still miss it.
P.S. After rebates, the T200HD's cost was almost $100 less than the price of my old 940MW monitor 3 years ago. Ain't technology wonderful! Let's just hope the T200's power supply lasts longer. |

| Bought as a small TV with monitor capability. The video is terrific but the sound quality with on board speakers is less than expected even for small LCDs. Good value. |

"Not as described. Seller does not answer emails. Would prefer to spend little more and buy direct Amazon for quality assurance." | 2009-07-10 |

As show in Title, we bought a (described) New TV in an unopened manufacturer's box that had been damaged(box).
Upon delivery, the shipping/packing box was broken open, flimsy, not marked fragile or handle with care with little padding.
TV manufacturer's outer box had dents as we knew; however interior sealed plastic bag holding peripheral connections was opened and serial numbers seemed not to match.
Nor was there a manual. We had to use a manual from a different TV to get going. And having little electronics expertise really need a manual to set-up DVD, computer, cable, etc.
BUT THE REAL PROBLEM IS that the Seller did not answer our email.
We would prefer to pay the $35 difference for same model New from Amazon and have the peace of mind and guarantee.
I would not buy from Seller again. As reliability and communication would easily had resolved any problems or questions.

| Magnificent quality picture. Easy to program for TV and hook up to indoor antenna. Purchased Terk HDTVa amplified indoor antenna from Amazon with this Samsung T200HD 20-inch Touch of Color LCD HDTV Widescreen Monitor, followed the set up instructions programmed into the T200HD, and voila, got 20 over the air picture perfect free-of-charge local HD broadcast signals. The T200HD has a built-in antenna strength signal meter which is easily accessible from the menu button on the remote control handset. Highly recommend this TV/monitor. Now, I can watch football in the spare bedroom while my lovely wife watches the big screen elsewhere. Get this Samsung, or the bigger one if your budget allows. The aforementioned signal meter makes antenna alignment easy by taking the guesswork out of positioning. Also, highly recommend the Terk indoor amplified antenna that everybody gives rave reviews. Are you ready for some football? Thanks, Amazon. |
