I'm glad i bought this digital camera and i went on reviews. It takes very nice pictures and has alot of options. Very light weight and easy to carry around. I was kinda nervous about buying such a cheap camera because i thought i was going to get what i paid for and so far so good. Really like it. I would recommend this digital camera to anyone that's looking for an inexpensive camera. It was well worth the price and more!!!! :-)

I owned this camera for a couple weeks - I just couldn't decide between this camera and the Panasonic DMC-TZ4 Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ4S 8.1MP Digital Camera with 10x Wide Angle MEGA Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Silver). It was really a tough choice - I agonized for days as this one cost a lot less - but I eventually chose the DMC-TZ4 due to it being manufactured in Japan, not China, and the TZ4 has a 10X optical zoom. The TZ4 is also made of metal, while this camera is plastic.
But this LZ8 is also a wonderful camera as all Panasonic cameras are. Battery life was excellent. Even though made of plastic, it was built well, and even the battery cover was not flimsy. This camera was budget priced when it was first introduced and it has a Leica lens. I posted a couple pictures I took with this camera right after I took it out of the box. There was no learning curve to using this camera.

This ultra compact digital camera has nothing to envy to other more complex and bigger devices with similar configuration. Its portability and wide performance make it a perfect partner to record casual and more important events, in an easier and discret way. Its stabilized zoom give a great chance to take perfect pictures, since the very first time that you use it. I love it.

I bought this model because of the price, the ability to set the shutter speed and aperture, and the fact that it runs on AA's.
Picture quality is not quite as good as my old Canon ( a little grainy ) but the new A-series Canons don't let you set aperture or shutter speed manually like the old ones did.
Overall it works for what I use it for.

I had a more expensive model and dropped it, so decided to buy a less expsnsive model just in case. :)
So Im missing a few things from the other camera, but honestly for what I want this camera for, this is just fine. Works fine, shoots fine... Everything so far is good!
